No decent coach in his right mind would apply for either one of those two jobs unless they were just hanging out long enough to catch the right ride for a better situation like John Reid and Scott Meadows. Poor Ole Shad bless his heart went to WB and fell into their septic tank and may never get out of there.

Blount county needs to build another school and downsize So they could get into a class that they can compete in. If they proceed to build the one at eagleton and siphon off enough students from both schools it could help everyone all the way around

Eagleton could pull from all 4, we'll see.

If the Eagleton school does come about my guess is that it's biggest impact will be off of Alcoa followed by Heritage and WB. Maryville has not had many players from Eagleton since the days McClurg set sail into that area and mined out all the gold nuggets for his program.

What do you consider success? WB has had winning seasons and hosted playoff games.

Having a 8 win season one time doesn't count as success, a good season no doubt. Siegel on the other hand had  good strung some really good seasons together and was a acl tear from winning a state championship.

WB has only had 3 seasons where they won 8 games or more in their 41 season history. Even if you widen it to 5 wins or more, they only have 12 seasons that hit that mark and none since 2007. So yes they have good seasons here and there but they never could keep it going

Very true, sad but true. The way this team just falls apart at times amazes me.I actually thought they had an above ave chance against Etown but man they got whipped, says alot about the Captain.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
