I taught in Jackson for a decade. On parent/teacher conference night I was lucky to see a half dozen parents. Sometimes saw none. They don’t support their own kids. Much less the teams.

Sad times my friend, parents are too self-absorbed to raise the kids they brought life to and wonder why they are drug dependent and dependant on the government for the rest of their life ! Kills me when I here a 40 to 50 something year old adult complain about young adults, heck we raised em this way ! Well for the most part

Yes, but I never have made that drive. Halls has always been the dreadful one for some reason

Take a few 2 hour trips to Collinwood, Waynesboro, or Middleton and holler back at me. I don’t care if it’s 3a at this point, just get us closer to home and more competitive.

Definitely. You guys had no business being in that region especially with a school in region 7 basically right down the road

Huntingdon has not lost a game to a region 6 opponate this 4 year cycle. In fact, Collinwood played us within 2 touchdowns this year which has been our most competitive contest. We make all those long drives filling the visitors bleachers and don't get nothing back. We want to play the teams we've always played filling our stadium up. Win or lose we want to play in region 7. Its home!

Last time we played the Stang's it was a home playoff game for us and the attendance was the same as our game avg against Milan,if you have been to that game the avg. attendance is over 4500. That makes money for these small schools !!

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
