Disabled check? Is that like a canceled check or something?

Let me just say... What a football game. 2 really good teams battling it out. Nothing better to experience on a Friday night. Special teams were huge in this one. That kick return wasn’t good for us at all. Crazy some of y’all were questioning the playcalls right before halftime, but if we would have ran it and not got the first down everyone would be screaming, “why not throw it there? Why are we not running a 2 minute offense?” If we get the first down and even if we don’t score, but we don’t give them the ball back with the opportunity to drive it 98 yards before halftime (I shuddered just replaying that in my mind.) maybe it is a different game.

Both teams played so hard, but by golly how about that DB OL? Sheesh they had their way with the front 7 for the Rebs. They came out and busted them off the ball play after play. I don’t know about y’all but I love watching Hayworth coach on the sidelines. He gets so emotional on out there. After we scored the last touchdown he was going insane celebrating with the offensive line. I love seeing coaches put it all out there for the kids.

So proud of the Indians for the way they played tonight. Obviously we wanted a deferent result, but the kids didn’t back down and played their tails off. Hats off to the entire DB football program.

I said in another thread DB could sneak up and grab an upset. It happened with EHS. We got closer and closer to Greeneville and Alcoa and then we were able to turn the corner and go to the title. If DB can keep this momentum going forward they might eventually be able to get over that hump and turn things around sooner than later.

Turn what around. That was a very good Senior led football team. If that good of a football team “ turns it around” they go from good to bad.

Good post! I watched the Db/alco game and saw that Db had a good team. Without the Hail Mary’s by alco, that game is a tossup.

Between then and now, I drank a lot of red kool aid, saw how much some of our young guys have improved, and honestly thought murvil would win fairly easily.

Credit to the Db OL, kids, and seniors for the great effort. I still believe the AD should tell the coach to quit yelling into the stands as the great performance from his kids had nothing to do with a little criticism directed his way.

If you take away the strip for Db then Alcoa wins 20-0, if Alcoa connects on 3 more wide open passes then Alcoa wins 41-0, not really a tossup

    • While I appreciate being credited with multiple accounts, I have to say that is not true. Will you please report back to your people that I am not someone who provides sharp, witty banter, but rather someone who is putting the shoe on the other foot for some people that have been repeatedly bashing others here and in real life for the past few years? Everything that I have stated has been backed by factual evidence or public record, so no need to be sharp and witty.
    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
