If DB keeps the mistakes in Kingsport , the Defensive backs plays lights out and DBs O line blocks like they have (in most games - for their Running back ) - DB could keep it real close , to the point it comes down to the last few of the 4th

DB has the players/ athletes to compete with anyone and The coaches Better be on their A Game !

If I was DB I would have the cornerbacks play very soft, 10-15 yards off the WR's, to keep from getting beat deep.     Give Maryville the short passes but make them drive the field, not burn you on 60 yard pass plays.

I agree. Play softer coverage on first and second down. Play press on 3rd and short. Also mix in  press- bail techniques to mix it up. I think our DB’s are good enough to make plays if we don’t ask too much from them. Their goal Friday night should be to keep everything in front of them and be great tacklers in space.

I don't see this many points being scored.

I believe we should have scored more so I was thinking the red guys will. I was thinking DB may get a couple on them early then really late with the red guy 2’s playing. But the red guys do have a good and well coached defense so you may be right

Assuming that Maryville wins tonight, is this their year to travel to Rutherford County?

If there was an upset and the number one team got beat then.............

Nevermind, I forgot about the "Maryville Rule" since RuCo is closer to Hermitage.

The next game on the East side of the bracket will be in Murfreesboro.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
