Oakland wins the championship game by 4 tds.

Warren Co. was their best competition this year.

Very true.  It was the only road game I wanted to go to but wasn't able to for Oakland.  The Taylor kid is seriously talented.

Oakland played Riverdale, Brentwood, and Maryville this year. Yes WC played Oakland the closest but I do not think I would go as far as to say WC provided the best competition for Oakland. All three of the schools I mentioned beat some pretty good teams. WC best win was arguably Cookeville at 6-4. WC had a great year and had a great player that carried his team. Let's leave it at that.

Still thinking this will be a little closer than most. Oakland will probably win but if Brentwood can limit big plays and cause a turnover or two they could make it a decent game.

There is something to be said about grit and purpose. The thing about Oakland is that they are hardnosed  kids who all have an edge to their game. Yes they are talented and well coached, but you cant coach a kid to play "hungry"  These kids are playing with purpose and drive. This may be a bit of a poor analogy but I see this as a game of "Haves " and "Have not's"  Its  a Lexus vs  Ford  .. That Lexus is great with butt warmers and cooled cup holders and all, but it won't do what the ford will when it comes to work and pulling a load ....I think it will be close for a half, but Brentwood gets tired of getting punched in the mouth and it gets blown open second half.  Pats by 21 ....

That sounds like the words of somebody who is ready to embrace the dark side

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
