Has it helped elevate the program? Absolutely, but it's not the only reason either. Freshman and JV have gone unbeaten for several years running. At the best programs, the feeder schools are just as critical as the high school is, Oakland is no different.

Freshmen Unbeaten??? You got to much dip on your chip now lol. Oan I don’t think people realize how many schools are in the greater Nashville area and how everybody is getting pushed out of metro Nashville area. Imagine Davidson, Rutherford,Sumner ,Williamson County’s with only 2 or 3 High schools.

Oh I am sure you have been a clinger for a long time.  However, you haven’t answered my question of OHS overall record versus Riverdale, when there wasn’t the so called dominant coaches at Riverdale.  Yes, Oakland does get in transfers.  Don’t get all defensive, little skippy. I think Creasy is the best coach in our district at this time.  We have barely played thirty percent of the schedule and many exciting games to be played.

You've already pointed it out. 21-32, happy?

You are wrong again.  I am not even aware of the freshmen score.

Then why you got all hot and bothered in the first place is beyond me since that was the entire point of the original post

So you don't agree that success starts at the bottom? If your feeder schools are bad, that's gonna show up when they're juniors and Seniors

Its a nice thought about having mega schools, but you could say the same about any county that has had success, like Blount County. I have the greatest respect for those who coach at a metro school, they're playing with one hand tied behind their back

Is Broadway Barber shop ever gonna come back across the painted bridge??

We're probably gonna knock the sides off of it this week. Too many unwritten rules. If it's a memorial, who is allowed to paint over it? If it is some other statement, how long before you can paint an opposing view? I like the old days when you had to sneak and do it at night like my old Alcoa neighbor Dale Almond did. I don't know what statement he was making, but the bridge looked glorious in all black with green and silver "LIZARD" painted on it!

I guess using BC's logic we should drop them ... lol

Ha! Come on! You murvul fans are almost getting hypothetical....sigh.

How can you not see Alccoa looks for tougher matchups way beyond 3A classification teams. And, then criticize them when your own team does NOTHING to do the same. Schedule games that will prepare you for the tougher teams in 6A. Yes, you scrimmaged Catholic, that was good. But Alcoa scrimmaged  Mc Callie and a very athletic Atlanta team......better.

Alcoa's out of region is 6A and 5A teams.

Murvul...besides Alcoa, 2 5A teams????? Atleast Alcoa will be a tougher matchup, and you all know it.

Oakland is pushing themselves by playing tougher teams. Teams out of state. Teams that will challenge them.

Til murvul steps up and plays better teams, you all have ZERO credibility pointing the finger at Alcoa!:thumb:

    • Biggest position to fill is QB. Kamden was special. A 1A team that can run and pass is very dangerous.
    • That would have been Coach Benjamin who was his legal Guardian and the DB coach.  I was the LB's Coach that was barely older than the players (I was going to UT for school and had started at Greeneville since my Sophomore year when Z coached there and he asked me to help coach)
    • Going on over a month now and still nothing, rumor mill or not I think a decision needs to be made. Maybe they don’t have anyone wanting it and maybe rumor mill don’t need it they are taking this long to come to an agreement.
    • Gibson County proved last year you can win it all with 6 players and if I’m not mistaken they only played 5 in the championship game. I would expect them to be good by end of season but I think losing Hart is a huge loss.  Summer camp gives teams a preview of what to expect and it’s exciting to see where teams are at. The Fillies return 3 starters and the 6th man that is 6’2” and I think she is going to surprise folks this season.
