I always thought if their were 2 teams tied in region play then the winner of that head to head matchup got higher seed

It could be a three way tie between Portland, KW, and NE with the three having beaten each other.

D. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region, shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.):
1. The team with the greatest number of victories.
2. The team who plays the greatest number of teams who win 50 percent or more of their games.
3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.
4. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories.
5. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats.

Good stuff by the OP. I’ve been trying to look at all the regions and figure it out myself, but you just made it much easier for me. Many thanks.

The West side has some really quality teams through regions 5, 6, 7, and 8. Look forward to seeing how it all shakes as we head into the playoffs. My guys earned a great win last night against Columbia but that one coming this Friday is massive. Nolensville still alive with a chance to shake the playoff race up a little bit. That will be a fun game at Page Friday night.

That is correct it goes back to head to head.

An outstanding job and a great service for all high school football fans on Coach. Thank you Rhea Co for your comprehensive post.

Let me see if I am reading Reg 3 vs 4 correctly...

Rhea County is # 1 in Reg, 4 and ORHS is # 4 in Reg. 3?

I think OR will finish # 2 in Reg, 3. Is it possible for that to happen?

Personally, I like OR going down to Rhea since I live in Hixson and can be on 27 heading north in 5 minutes.

Again, SUPER work Rhea Co. Good luck to your Eagles.

As of this week Oak Ridge Karns and Campbell are all tied for 2nd and the way the tiebreakers fall Oak Ridge sits 4th. Now I think OR finishing 2nd once it’s all said and done. Luckily OR have to play the two teams they are tied with so they can control where they finish. They have two weeks to get ready for the Thursday showdown with Karns. If they win that one I think they beat Campbell too. I think if OR can get their offense to click, and with as good as OR defense is, they will finish 2nd.

I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
