Man I wish we had the Tyler kid, Slatton has been most improved on the line but I seen him with a knee brace on last night.  Little Roho has improved.  What about bigger Roho, when is he back?  I like the fight that little Ronto has in him, Id put him on the line.  Not being biased but I also think the Allison boy should play more on offense.  He’s got good size.  I know he’s missed a lot of learning being out so much but just try it for a play or two then sub out.  The Lewis boy has improved greatly as well at center.  Then there’s Starkey and Peacock.  Sub them all on offense.  That’s what we will need to do in the playoffs.

Basically what I’m saying is is we were completely healthy on the line I think we would be just fine.

I'm with you brother. There's no more games if we lose, so throw caution to the wind. I think the Allison kid is as good as the others, so he needs more playing time.  I commend them all for playing hard, but the OL is going to take us as far as we're able to make it.

Can anyone give us a true assessment of Clay County?  We know it will be a tough test but we are ready for the battle.

I can give a bit of an outsider’s commentary. It depends on who they play at QB really. #11 is their hoss, they can line up in a power set and he will run over people but from what I understand has been hurt most of the year. I think he is healthy now. #12 is a freshman that has played well in his stead. He will be a very good player one day but is still a freshman doing some freshman things, good arm though. #44 is the main player out wide, he has a serious set of wheels. The team overall will play very hard. I think SPitt will score a touchdown late to make it something like 28-14. If SP overlooks Clay or lays an egg Clay can 100% win but the straight up talent differential is 2-3 TD’s. Granted if Clay lays an egg it could be more

Appreciate the insight. I remember the QB #11 a few years ago when he was a freshman. He was very talented then and had great size for a QB. Sounds like this will make for a very good round 2 game.

Spot on - SP will begin to control the line as the game wears on. Clay can run over your, or air it out. I would bet the SP secondary will get a pick which could / will be the game changer. Pirates score and win by 2 TD.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
