What’s the reasoning on that?

Surely a Greenback fan wouldn’t have a problem with kids moving in to play football.

No problem with kids MOVING.We had enough teams challenge us and had 2 investigations and all had definitely moved. For years we have heard of Memphis schools swapping players and no physical moves and no one ever looked into it.Like Memphis can do what they want and folks are afraid of them.No problem here at all with transfers would like 2 or 3 good legal ones right now.

It’s funny as heck how grown ups get on this message board and throw jabs at kids.
Their school closed down in May. The kids parents did not want to send their kids to failing school in their neighborhoods. Most of the kids have been in Charter schools all their educational years. The Coach was without a job when the school closed. So all the slick jokes about somebody cheating is ridiculous! The kids were free to go anywhere they wanted to. Every kid that left MAHS had to have a TSSAA hardship done to be eligible to play this year. The kids spread all over from Millington, Craigmont, St Benedict and others School in the city!

Nobody ever knows anything about the small Memphis schools until the playoffs start. When a slew flock to one school and it happens nearly every year, they go from terrible to a Powerhouse in a Hurry. If the TSSAA really kept up with the junk that goes on in Memphis, alot of teams would get in a lot of trouble. I think they take the approach, outta sight, outta mind. This team may or may not win it all but I'm betting no one is more talented. They may have trouble when they face some of the better 1a teams that can play back. They can just go through the motions and beat these little teams they are killing. When someone plays back, they may implode.

Implode they will not ! The schedule was already made due to the 2year cycle. They said the same thing about the MAHS team last year . The coach made sure he scrimmage the best team this summer to prepare his team for the playoffs(Germantown Lausanne)to be exact! Just remember this every team has to come Memphis when the playoffs start!

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
