I put more on the players wanting to win and not ever thinking their out of the game more so than coaching.  I don’t think they’re overachievers they’re players that gel together.

I only picked UC because of your teams shortcomings the past few years but it looks like you all are just playing ball now!Good luck to your boys horse.

Didn't Riverisde lay it on the ground 5x and lost 4 the 1st time? Riverside had a tough time moving the ball against Huntingdon. Have they improved that much? Big running back for Riverside was only one who impressed me he ran hard. QB did not play well

I'm sure this game will be more competitive and that Riverside has improved since our first meeting, but it is hard for me to believe that they've improved 4 touchdowns since then.

If we play a clean game and get the same pressure on the QB, we will be playing in Chattanooga.

Riversides first drive of the game at Huntington was excellent, then we fumbled the ball I believe 4 or 5 times and it was still a one score game in the 4th

I knew Riverside had a pretty good team going into the season when they beat Lexington. When I saw what Huntingdon pulled off in the second half (fourth qtr. actually) in the Riverside game, I thought they would be hard for any 2A team to beat. You can complain about your coach over there all you want to Stang City. But he's pretty tough when you're on the other side of the field. I still think they will win it all.

They were moving the ball well but those fumbled snaps did stop a few possessions in first half but yeah that’s football. Huntingdon is the favorite but maybe Riverside can keep it close

6 seniors on the team. Rivers, who many thought the offense was going to revolve around, goes down with blown out knee before the season starts. Levitt goes down with injury. Arguably the best defensive lineman decided before the season football wasn’t for him. A starting offensive tackle quits after the 2nd game of the season. When these things happen usually seasons fall apart. Not for this bunch. They were written off as a down season. They have decided to prove everyone wrong. Keep it going boys.

You guys had a preseason scrimmage with Dburg and several other teams. I believe it was in Lexington. After the scrimmage was over several of the coaches that were there told me y’all would be really good this season. Apparently they were correct.

We had several lineman out in the first contest remember it was a 12-7 game going into  the 4th last game

we must not have turnovers in this game like the last one

Donkeys offense will be hard to defend you have to be disciplined or they will take to the house at any moment

Riverside must be successful running the ball to be able to setup play action

I predict this a close one 14-12 Riverside but who ever wins this game has  the upper hand in the championship game in nooga

The winner of this game will be the underdog in Chattanooga against Tyner. I believe it will the Huntingdon with the win over Riverside however.

I disagree but could be wrong

riverside and Huntingdon have the #1 and #2 offense in 2A respectively

That is very true about the offenses of Huntingdon and Riverside. I do hope the winner of this game wins the title but Tyner is very good. I mean very good. Just a question have you seen any game film on Tyner? They are legit.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
