I’d be shocked if Powell won , I just don’t think they have the Defense that West does . I think the only way Powell does win is if Potts has an amazing, miraculous game … which that kid has in him I have no doubt . Wish I could see this game

Agree, and I think West wins the battle in both trenches.

Agree what West should win the game, but Powell's offense is just clicking right now.  Never say never, but I don't see West holding them to 14 points.  I could easily see a 42-35 type game happening.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Powell pulls this one off.  I saw the best performance by a high school quarterback since I moved to Tennessee last Friday.  He was unreal.  If he can throw into those tight of windows against West, they will win.  Of course, West is bringing the memory of last year's meltdown and will be motivated.  Should be a fun one to watch.

Yep.  Potts is the wild card, and he's healthy.  And so are his receivers.

And I feel confident that West won't let Greene beat them, so the other receivers are going to have to make plays, especially the one who has underachieved and seen his recruiting stock fall because of it.  Time for him to step up.

Could be an interesting game.

Greene absolutely smoked West last year regardless of who was on him.

Also Powells Oline gave Potts time to throw last year...so im curious how Wests front seven matches up - not to mention limiting big runs by Potts.

West oline was manhandled last year, and before anyone mentions Nolen, he was out for part of the game and the other guys in the front seven still stymied West last year. It will be interesting to see how West's oline does themselves.

I will be shocked if either team blows out the other.

Looks like I will be in attendance at a game at Powell for the first time in years tomorrow night.

My son is in town for the Thanksgiving weekend and wants to take his son - my grandson - to see where he played his high school football.  First time I will see a game there since 2016.

I anticipate a terrific show.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
