The two stud running backs haven’t though.  NPA has definitely helped Creasy build that powerhouse back.   Oakland has a stout program and good facilities.  That indoor practice facility is as nice as any that you will find around here.  The crowd size did look down but the success of the team hasn’t wavered much.   When Creasy leaves they will struggle to keep status quo and that is only because the bar has been set extremely high.

Kids move. Good kids want to be where they’re going to be successful and I can’t fault them. If you’re good, in a bad situation and you’re going to move, why not go to a good program. Also, not sure what you mean about NPA. They help a lot of kids in a lot of different ways. I’ve seen it myself.

I mean if you are successful and are good with NPA, they will help direct kids to those schools.  Happens a lot.  This isn’t 30 years ago, the rich stay rich when you can get quality players to move in.  It’s all about having those contacts.

That’s good in theory, but not how it really works. I know that organization well and that’s nothing more than speculation and conjecture. That said, when you’re training the top talent in the state, people take notice of any moves. Boo Carter is a perfect example. Boo is a NPA guy and changed schools. NPA had nothing to do with that move, but because he trains with NPA everyone said NPA directed it. Maybe Gallatin should be more NPA and less Banks. Lol

I think the reality of the situation is that Oakland fans felt like it was going to be a lopsided game which it was so to see a crowd like that for a playoff home opener is not surprising.   Seen many first and second round games like that in the Creasy era.  Oakland fans have gotten waaaayy to used to winning.   Including me.

Anyone know how the two Oakland QB's stacked up statistically?  I know they both threw at least one td based on what I read but don't know much more than that.

Ditto....has nothing to do with lack of followers and more to do with whom they were playing. By the way, Rutherford County Schools DOES NOT HAVE OPEN ZONES.

Congratulations to Oakland.  Gallatin played tough until right before the half when it all fell apart.  Morris is the real deal and one heck of a runner.  Gallatin had no answer.  Oakland did not do anything fancy and it just shows how much we lack to get to that level.  Gallatin is going to concentrate in the weightroom and hope to beef up our boys some before next season.  Overall very happy with the direction of the program under Stroup.  We grew up some this year and I think we make even more strides this next season.  It’s a process.

I got to see you guys again at senior night, and I just don’t understand it. Size wise  y’all are huge and when I mean huge I’m taking private schools. I was talking to a few parent in the stands and the biggest thing I said was that you guys have no depth with at least 70 kids on the sideline. They also said yawls biggest nemesis was getting beat over top, so I definitely gave y’all a chance against Oakland. I know it’s the coach first year but as you said the must attack the weight room this offseason.

It’s a culture issue that Stroup has to overcome. He had a good year and it appears to be going in the right direction, but it’s going to take some time. The freshman team was ok, but the JV team was terrible. They just have to have realistic expectations with him and realize it will take a few years.

Watson and Buck were pretty good so I know how it works.  Heard way too many stories my friend.

Hearing stories and being there are two different things… Like I said speculation and conjecture. I’ve spent a lot of time in the training, recruiting, and 7v7 world and I promise you it doesn’t go down like people think/say. Those kids ask for advice on certain things, but it’s not like Buck is running around telling kids to leave one program to go to another. That just doesn’t make business sense. When you do what NPA does you can’t do things to intentionally alienate coaches.

What kind of expectations do you actually think Gallatin people have? If you talk to folks that aren't satisfied with this season, then you are only talking to about 1% of the fanbase. EVERYBODY I know is satisfied with this season and the trajectory of the program. That is just simply fact. We lost to the best 6A program in the state of Tennessee last night. Would have been the same outcome if any other Sumner, Wilson, etc team would have played them. So I'm pretty positive that every Gallatin fan is sleeping comfortably tonight with the people that are in charge and how things are going. It's a good atmosphere to be around. Excited to watch them improve.

Y'all are in good hands. There are good coaches out there who can improve teams through questionable methods, but that's not what you have. Stroup will improve every aspect of the program... he will have every kid enrolled at Gallatin who can contribute participating. He will inspire every kid on the team to give everything he has by accepting responsibility for failures and crediting the players for success. He will put kids in position to succeed through assignments and play calling, and not least by far he will make better people of his players on and off the field. All of the Green Wave fans should already be excited for next season.

What’s wild is Gallatin had a great season. They played the Powerhouse of Oakland.

You can’t be mad man. Come on now.  Oakland is probably the winner of 6A.

Gallatin had a great season. Stroup is building.

I know no one wants to play Oakland this post season

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
