Thanks brother. I’ll say this the man absolutely loved his kids and loved Upperman football. I know he was a happy man tonight. We sat at the middle school basketball game earlier in the week and talked about this game and UT football for over an hour. He was Orange and White on Saturdays through and through. He was my friend and I will miss him.

This is so sad to hear and prayers from Betsy!!

I'm so sorry for such a great loss. Especially for his family. Praying for them.

Try and enjoy the win, I know he would want you enjoy it to the fullest.

Best of luck to Upperman next week.

Death runs in all of our families. None of us are getting out of here alive. There’s only one way to heaven and it’s through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Last Friday night we talked before and after the game. This Friday he’s gone. Definitely puts life in perspective and what’s truly important.

Well said.

I was at the game tonight. It was fantastic. It was shades of 2021 when Betsy ran the ball down Greeneville’s throat, played more physical ball and in the process, managed to keep the Devil’s offense on the sideline, where they could only watch their season tank. Part of me thinks the Devils were looking past this game, as if the Bees were just gonna come in and lay down for them. And when the Bees punched back after early adversity, the Devils didn’t seem to know what to do. My hats off to Adam and the coaching staff for having their young men prepared and ready and having a great game plan. Not only was Greeneville out played, they were obviously out coached. Again.

We are considering traveling down next weekend to cheer the Bees on.  The East needs to bring it home again.

On a serious note, praying for the entire Upperman family.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
