jp2fan
I think Jeff Brothers at JP2 because we only have 9 returning seniors, 4 are starters and our second year in varsity play we are second in our region....Of course he gets my vote. cav43
Jerry Joslin- Cookeville. He took a 5-6 team and molded them into a 8-1 (as of now) team. They were picked to get 4th or 3rd in the region, yet he had them clinch the championship in week 8. He is the best motivater. 5A coach of the year= Big Jerry J. Honorable mention=Mcgavock head coach
noonesfool
Ralph Nelson SE, 4A and Dwayne Wells CC 5A. Great job both coaches. Both had negative tradition working against them.

EastHigh
Coach Ralph Nelson at Sullivan East has done a great job. I am currently a senior at East, and since I play baseball we worked out with the football team in the summer. It was amazing how many players he had coming into workouts and the belief he installed in our players. As a member of East I can say this is the only time our school has had this feeling in my 4 years there. The players we have does not hurt. Matt Eads is a great leader and quarterback. If you haven't seen him play you are missing out.
tiger35
I think Jackson Central Merry's coach should also be considered. Coach Hardegree left JCM for USJ and said that they wouldnt win 3 games this year, looks like he was wrong as they are 9-1 to this point. He took over the team less than a month before their first game and has turned them into a serious contender in 4a

I would vote for Coach Stowe at Haywood County. He`s really improved that team.
ccDL92
The way I see it, Coach Wells from Campbell Co. is a LOCK for this award, statewide. CC has never had a winning season and obvioulsy never been to the playoffs....and were 6-3 playing for the 2 seed. Hands down Coach Wells

gocavsgo
I think you have to consider Cookeville's Jerry Joslin for 5a coach of the year.
tngator
As much as I think George Quarles is a great coach. Ralph Nelson has to be the coach of the year. Sullivan East has always been a 2-8 or 1-9 team. Ralph Nelson has turned that program around. A good coach makes a difference. I bet after this season there will be more kids out for football at Sullivan East. Success breeds success. 825394882[/snapback] Hey RR: is this the same Ralph Nelson that played at Rule High School in the mid-80's?
