  1. That’s the crazy thing about the tide this year. They can keep up in the scoring if need be. Or they can power and eat up clock like they did with Milan. I am Still saying I am From Missouri and the tide will bring home the gold until someone shows me different.

  2. 1. I will never lie to the young men. 2. I will never sugar coat it. 3. I will always call it as I see it. If this offends you I am sorry. You keep holding their hands and telling them they did good when they didn't you are handicapping them from growing into MEN! I will not do it. If that seems harsh YOU had better put me on your ignore list as I am NOT going to change now.

  5. OK my little take on it. There is NO upside for Maryville to do this. Most folks have NO idea how expensive a game like this is. My son played for R'dale when Rankin was the HC. He scheduled a team in Ohio that was 'supposed' to be really good. This trip required EVERY player to contribute or have contributed $500 EACH for the trip. I was lucky in that the owner of a Liquor Store sponsored my son. This was because the owner is a R'dale alum and an ex football player. This did not include the walking around money I handed him for walking around or for a bus ticket home if he had to. He and Rankin did NOT get along and Rankin has been known to leave players places if the team lost. IE 4 players after the loss to Dickson in the playoffs. Long story short, the expense total for the trip was OVER $100,000.00. R'dale went there and beat the Ohio team like a rented mule and came home after a stop at a theme park for the team for the win. It got R'dale exactly NOTHING as the Ohio team did NOT honor their home and away promise. They paid a measly $500 forfeit fee and did not have to make the trip here and it left R'dale a game short and scrambling to fill their 10 game regular season. I like a lot USED to harass Maryville about this. No MORE as they have repeatedly stepped up and BEAT teams that are tough. Proof is their total record dominating Rutherford County teams as well as their Gold and Silver Ball collection!

  6. East Robertson looks improved from last year. Not sure how much improved, but they’ve been building for the past couple of years. I’m glad TC gets them before WT does so we can get an idea of just how much they’ve developed.

  10. I hope that Alcoa can hurry Maryville's QB's and have some success covering AJ Davis. I think Alcoa's #6 Rodriguez would do a great job covering him. I hope the F5 can stay as balanced offensively as they have their first three games. If #1 QB Russell has successful night, i like Alcoa"s chances. I thought Oakland was too one dimensional in the first half, and continued to try running straight ahead. It will take a solid passing game from both teams to get this win.

  15. The lack of respect for Alcoa and Greeneville is just absurd. Just because those two programs play in the smaller classifications doesn't diminish how good they are. Both of them have just as many, if not more, high level recruits as the 6A and D2 teams have. It's all about talent and their coaches ability to put them in a position to win. Both of those programs are as good as any in the state in that regard.

  16. With how this season has started and with what they're facing over the next three weeks, I'd say them Jasper folk is pretty deep in the jug by now.
