Blazer, I wouldn't say they are invincible, but they have a great shot to win it all. This group of seniors have really been through the grinder falling short the last few years of the ultimate goal. Yes they bring speed to the table, but what they have brought this season more than anything is the physicality at the line of scrimmage, which I felt was what hurt them the last three years in the playoffs when they have been bounced. I think the team also has great chemistry and really feed off of each other when one side of the ball makes a big play. I'm really impressed with the job the staff has done as well.

Don't think either is correct for 1A. The only thing Gordonsville has done than would be considered a flop is the early loss to Watertown (which quite frankly should not happened). As for Clay County, they lost on a missed two point conversion on the road against a team that barely beat at home last year, then beat Gordy a touchdown at home after losing by a touchdown on the road last year. I think both did exactly what they should have in the regular season.

I'm gonna agree. OR is healthy, QB looks like a different person than several weeks back, everyone has improved in the last 3 games or so. I agree Rhea County is down from normal, too. Typically, those guys are pretty dang good, I respect the Golden Eagles a lot.

No one is invincible, it only takes one bad game and it’s dribble dribble drive time. Powell, Oak Ridge and Central all sent them packing in the last 3 years. Stay focused, stay heathy - survive and advance. You have the opportunity and the ability to make it to Chattanooga, do you have the focus to follow through? There are too many challenges coming from the West (we all focus too much on the East), so time to take it one game at a time. Forget round 2, it’s now round 1 and we will worry about who is next after you actually get to “next”. Truly hope they make the run, but you are one bad game or one horrible call away from basketball season.

This part is so true. This group does have great chemistry, they are not only terrific football players, but just good kids and students. Like I said before, it's just a special group of seniors. And yeah, the consistency of the staff is rare. Hard to find a better staff.

I believe that’s accurate. This SP team doesn’t have the usual stud playmakers as a lot of those before them. They lost a lot of talent the past several years. I don’t think they are a bad team though this year.

Of course Lebanon has other pieces a couple of which you mentioned in the QB and RB. Crowell is their best overall player so naturally things run more smoothly when he’s on the field. Hopefully he’ll be able to go Friday night. Should be a great game.

Just looking at scores Riverdale seems to be playing their best ball recently. Key for Lebanon will be if versatile Anthony Crowell can return after missing past two games due to a concussion. In 8 games he’s got over 1300 all purpose yards and scored 17 td’s. Offense has definitely sputtered without him past couple of weeks.

One of the things that I love about this game between my alma mater and the school where I help the staff and coach at the middle school is that there are coaches on both sides that have been with the Seniors since they were little guys playing youth league. There will be a lot of emotion in the game and extra emotion on the losing side line. Either way I am proud of the impact these coaches have made on these young men for over a decade.

it seem like its been awhile since Reg. 1 won a game, I could be wrong. But there top 3 are as good as they have been in awhile. AE plays a tough schedule 3 wins look like a cupcake we'll see. If CD takes care of the ball they win, but 2 turnovers could change the out come. (just keeping it real) lol stole that line been wanting too say it. Turtle I'm pulling for a sweep.

Rhea County healthy is always pretty good, I definitely noted that early in the season they had AC on the ropes before the Mavs pulled it out late. Oak Ridge played the best game they have played all season at Campbell County, came out fast and focused, took it to the Coogs from the start, Thats the way to play, Looking back the week before that with a break that went the right way and not getting a couple of time critical holding calls, they could have beat DB as well. SO, this team is getting better and getting it right at the right time of the year, they got most all of the injured guys back and its good to see Garza getting more comfortable at quarterback executing the offense, IF they do the same against Rhea County they should come out with a first round win and be looking at a pretty good path ahead in the playoffs. I hope we have a good crowd Friday night fans, you need to reward these guys for getting OR a home playoff game!!

DB fans were by far the worst I’ve experienced Friday night especially the one fan every time a flag was thrown he had something to say.

Knox Catholic had 3 or so qualify for State last season. I don't know of St. Andrew's is a Catholic school but their whole team was pretty good last year.

In the school system I retired from, less than 1/2 of 1 per cent of the total school budget went to coaching supplements...all sport coaching supplements, not just football...so saying coaching supplements are taking away from academics is bogus...
