It's nice to see both teams playing well, and it should be an interesting game. Halls has surprised a lot of folks this year so far, myself included. I think their defense has been the biggest surprise, but they haven't really played any big dogs yet. I'm leaning toward Powell in a close one.
I'm worried about how close they played Knoxville Central, rhea County lost by same margin. They look like they've lost a couple they could have won. I'm really surprised they played Hixson close even more surprised how Hixson upset loudon. So they may be a decent team that just can't get it done in the end.
There's a button that says edit and then you hit Hide. I've had to do that many times when that 3rd beer said go on a head and send it then I get up in the morning and my coffee says get that off of there. keep it up maybe you'll get some good feedback. Acyually I do enjoy your thoughts on a lot of these games I'm not as familiar with as you are.
Lots of good action at the Border Battle...
Cleveland wins the tourney, beating a good Marquette team from MO in 3.
Maryville (final 4)
Nolensville, Summit, Collierville (all final 8)
East Hamilton, Hardin Valley, Independence, Oakland all make the Gold bracket.
Ravenwood runner ups in silver bracket
Siegel, Green Hill, Gallatin, Science Hill, Riverdale all silver bracket
Typical government bureaucracy. My son got speared in the back of the head in week 2. no foul. no ejection. Straight up dirty play. He gets concussion cleared to play in week four and is promptly warned about his pants during pre-game. So logically I guess we value the knees over the brain.
Also that transfer rule is enforced for some but not for others.
Seems that like the government at large, the state athletic commission has its priorities screwed up.
Yeah, the work to make it happen was always ridiculous. Lots of great home and homes were never worked on because of that. Dalton is 30 miles. Northwest is 18? Maybe? Murray County right down 411 from Polk.
GHSAA and TSSAA have historically really frowned on the across border play.
BTW, news out of Georgia in reclassification for next year is they will drop the 7 classes in favor of 6 because of "long distance travel issues" in scheduling.
TSSAA maybe you need to look at that. if teams have to travel more than 2 hours for region games? I know that gettting of:00f from work at 5 PM (TSSAA officials, AD's and Coaches don't have that issue) it becomes difficult to make out of town trips especially with the 7:00 PM starting times now. I really think that hurts the gate at all games.
And I remember the Hamilton County School Board, pushing to make all their games inside Hamiton County (because then they would not have to pay bus expenses out of county) to the point of requesting the TSSAA to make their districts all within the county sending everyone else into long distance districts, such as Cleveland and Bradley going north to Knoxville. Never mind how much money Bradley Countians spent in sales tax down there. Then the jealousy didn't help either.
Till Tom Weathers and Red Bank finally won a Championship, Chattanooga teams didn't get a sniff of one other than McCallie and Baylor. They had to hang their hats on Bradley's 76 championship and Cleveland's run in 93-95.
Good game two good teams hopefully White County will start winning these close ones!Lost by 7,2,7 very young competitive team!Uppermans D is built for a run in playoffs!
I mean it's real dang simple. The coaches are asked if the players are properly equipped according to NFHS regulation. That means all players are wearing all required safety equipment properly. The coaches invariably say yes. It's on them at that point.
Maybe if coaches made sure they're players were wearing SAFETY equipment properly, the officials wouldn't have to worry about it. But, here we are.
I mean how darn ridiculous would it be if a high school baseball coach sent a player to the plate wearing a batting helmet with no flaps, and then folks got mad at the umpire for making it an issue. Let's think about it guys.
What are you smoking dude Giles plays Sequatch week 10 they are in the same region. You are making your self look stupid. Lol scared to schedule them what a joke. Page and Hardin is far better than any 1 and 2 A teams y’all have played.
Go tell that crap to someone else Giles played Page to overtime and got beat on a 2point conversion which if you don't know who PAGE is they just happen to be the the state runner ups the last 2 years in a row in 5A and will go deep again this year. Can you please tell me anyone even close to that caliper of a team that Squatch has played.
