Father Ryan at MBA

MBA would have trouble with the Irish D even if all of thier guys were healthy, so needless to say Ryan should not have much trouble stoping them now. The question that I have is can the Ryan offense move the ball on the MBA defense? You can't win if you don't score and although the Irish offense has put up some good numbers so far they have come agianst some awful opponents. The only descent team that we have played pushed us around prety good. With that being said, this game will be won in the trenches, hopefully our o-line will step up and take this game over and open up holes for our backs, if not it may be a long night for the Irish. This game will not be as easy as some people may think, we still have a long way to go before we need to be predicting three TD wins over MBA. This game will come down to the last possession and will be won with a field goal.

I don't think that FR has anyone with the type of break away speed that Tate has. MBA moved the ball well against JPII and held Coffey pretty much in check. I agree that it's going to be a slugfest but I also think that MBA is faster and better upfront. I'm still taking MBA.

How many MBA athletes healthy or not run a legitimate 4.39 40? Father Ryan has one. Chris Hohl WR/DB. Go to www.40speed.com where this is noted on the site. I believe Golden is noted as having run a 4.42 40.

You obviously have not seen this team move to the ball. They have tremendous speed all around. Ryan will win this game. Not sure by how many, but they will find a way to win this one.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned that Father Ryan hasn't beaten MBA since 1997. It seems like Father Ryan has reestablished some of their attitude from that '97 championship year. This year should be a great contest with the game having more meaning than in recent years.

It looks like both teams have some tough games ahead. Both need this one bad. I guess we will see who wants it the most.

I wouldn't throw the rest of MBA's season in the toilet just yet. In 2002 they lost to Baylor at home bringing their record to 4-4. They then proceeded to win their last 5 games as well as a State title. Different team, different year...but stranger things have happened.

Ditto...always a bad idea to write off an MBA team.

    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
