Hey, look at the bright side, at least we get our basketball players back sooner. Gotta' get ready for that first round exit at the state basketball tourny. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

Isn't that the darn truth. What an abortion of a second half--penalties, mistakes, poor offense, poor defense, poor coaching, a key injury, and to cap it all off, a special teams breakdown. Everyone deserves their share of blame for this one, and we remain the masters of the regular season and a lock to gag in the playoffs.

South is lucky they never play Knox or Chatt teams until the semis, then they get drilled, but think it is cool to get to the semis. Forget the way the regions are laid out, DB can sometimes beat these teams, South can't, but gets to say they went to the semis.

Seems like CS had a very productive 1st half before leaving with a ankle sprain. Does this speak to how vital CS was to DB's success, or an overall letdown from the team/coaches that couldn't get it done with a 17pt lead going into the 2nd half? Either way, Great Regular Season (10-0), hurts to see an all to familiar playoff history repeat itself for DB. Best wishes M.C.

First off I apologize for the South fans that are rubbing this defeat in. I have many DB friends and some that have kids that play Indian football. I know it hurts like heck for those kids to lose this game the way they did. Bud South has to play whats dealt to them and DB has to play whats dealt to them. Rebel fans, my advice take it or leave it, get off the thread, leave the DB people alone and let's concentrate on proving everyone wrong about 4a football in NET.

It doesn't hurt as bad when you lose to a better team. But this one hurts twice as bad because we were clearly the better team. We were aggressive in the first half, but totally flat in the second. It was like two entirely different teams on the field. Graham had to do a eulogy for Coach Coughenour today. I can't help but wonder if he was somewhat distracted by that. But I don't mean to use that as an excuse. I guess McMinn just wanted it more. Let's get ready for basketball !!!

Having gone 10-0 in regular does not mean much if you go out in the first round.

D-B = KING OF THE FIRST ROUND CHOKERS !!!!!!

Region 1 went 0-4 in the first round. THAT stinks !

Not making excuses for the coaching but Graham Clark delivered the eulogy at the funeral of his mentor and one of his best friends today, Tom Coughenour (aka Coach). Please remember, wins are not always what is about, especially at this level. He, along with Coach, philosophy of coaching is you coach people, not just games. What a blessing it is for DB Indians to have a coach of people like Graham Clark, one of the finest men I have ever met. Go Indians!

    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
