I have just heard that the Lawrence County SRO Officer was walked out of the gym by officers and they are saying that he is the one that started it all by taunting eagle's coach Kevin Thomas as he was walking to the locker room.

The SRO did not start or create the problem, he was only doing what an officer should do. He confronted an adult about assaulting a teenager....this is all a bunch of silliness. This whole thing is a result of bad coaching. The LCHS Coach had his players where they should be, "in the locker room". Had the SCHS Coach been an adult and shown his kids how to be good sports, shook the opposing teams players and coaches kids hands and escorted his team off the court this would have never happened. Good thing there is video showing all this so the truth will come out...It's sad that there are adults like this mentoring our kids...I'm really disappointed.

Your right, the SRO did a great job??? I guess that is why like ten people told on him for taunting coach Thomas, and after the gym was pretty much cleared, two officers, the principal, our SRO officer, and the Super Intendant were in a heated argument with LC's SRO officer. And you would think if the guy had done such a great job he would have some other Lawrence County people over there with him backing him up. But guess what, there were 0 LC people backing him up. I saw it going on, so don't tell me i'm wrong about this.

After watching the game, I'm pretty sure we can blame most of the nights drama on the coach for Shelbyville. The downward spiral started with his technical followed by a couple of technicals for SCHS's players. Clearly it was a hard fought game. Players were frustrated and in the end mad and looking for someone to blame. Just a little common sense and good judgement on behalf of SCHS coach and we could have avoided the whole thing. You lead by example.....I'm jus sayin! Fans will be fans, that is part of the game. Both student sections did their fair share.

KT is a classy guy. Probably a little upset after a loss, and not being able to get to his locker room after a game probably upset him a little bit more too. I seriously doubt he shoved or pushed a cheerleader to the ground, maybe, just maybe he bumped into her on his way to his dressing room, but really he shouldn't have any trouble getting to his locker room. Also, KT will never look to blame someone else for a loss.

If his display last night is what you consider " Classy " Then it is all making sense to me now !

First, Everyone was told to leave the gym and that is exactly what everyone from LCHS was doing. We did not stick around to argue with SCHS people. The principal you are talking about is the one I heard say "white trash from Lawrence County". Now why would anyone want to stick around and argue with an idiot coach and a principal like that??

In response to randymc

I really dont know about 10-15 years ago because I wasn't around...but I will say this...the student section we've had for the last two the three years are a bunch of good kids...what they do is all in fun. I've never heard them once threaten or swear, or say anything inappropriate. They are knowledgeble of the game, and can be very intimidating I guess only because there is so many of them. I've never observed or heard of them chasing opposing players, fans, or cheerleaders from our gym like has happened at other places we've played, and if they did I would be the first to correct them

I wasn't at the game last night so will not pretend to know what happened, yet. But, every kid in that cheering section is a good kid and some of them are great kids. Not a thug in the crowd. Sometimes they do get a little carried away, and try to outdo their efforts of the past, but I am glad to have them and I think most schools would be.

Most of you would do anything to have the crowd below happen in your gym just once:

Would you like the UT home crowd to be your home crowd or would you prefer Duke's?

As far as crowds nowadays, I remember two bench-clearing brawls in my college days, against MTSU and ETSU (where the crowd came out onto the field), and all was forgotten and we lined back up and finished the game. Not proud of it but it happens and the kids these days are no worse than kids back then. However, lets keep it from happening again whenever possible.

Amen, Coach.

OUCH! Sorry to touch so many sore spots. You're right though It's all everybody else's fault BUT lchs's. There's absolutely nothing wrong with their behavior.

Yeah, it is totally Lawrence County's fault that Shelbyville's coach pushed down a 5 foot 95 pound cheerleader down. And it is totally Lawrence County's fault that Mr. All-American Andrews jumped into our crowd and started throwing punches FIRST!! Yeah that sounds like Lawrence County's fault genius.

does anyone know if the cheerleader is ok. what did she say happened?

Yes. The cheerleader is okay. She was scared to death she said. She said the Shelbyville coach PUSHED HER.. DOES EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND WHAT PUSHED MEANS. Even you randymc. The coach pushed the cheerleader. And trust me, she is not one to cause any trouble to anybody.

To everyone who is downing the administration at LCHS and the fans of Lawrence County: I am a fan and student of Lawrence County, and before practically every game we are reminded of what we can and cannot say, and how to act. For example: we know we cannot say "suck" or use other curse words, and cannot speak to opposing players directly. We know basketball, and we are attentive. So, whoever says that we are rednecks who show up at games just to down the other team can shove it. We are well informed and from what I can tell, did not break any rules and not exhibit the immaturity that Shelbyville showed Friday night
