I've been sayin this for a few weeks now but nobody seems to be listening!!! NOBODY IS SCORIN 14 POINTS ON GREENEVILLE!!! Mabe after this week everyone will listen to me. Honestly I'll be surprised if Giles even scores.

you sure have wood, when i give my scores, im including garbage points in the second half....perhaps i should have been giving "VOLS" type scores and only factoring in the first half...lol

Giles isn't a "Knoxville city school" that relies on athletes to win games and freaks out when they play a well coached team with players. They will come to play and they'll play hard. Greeneville better be careful what they wish for because Giles County is not coming to east-TN to shine their rings. O'Conner is a good coach and his teams are going to battle right up through the end. Good Luck Bobcats!

I agree! Most Knoxville teams are extremely athletic, but lack fundamentals and discipline. The ones that have both are the ones that are still playing this time of year, every year. West Greene had no business competing with AE the past 2 years (athleticallyl), but would have beat them last year, if the officials knew what a 1st down was and competed with them again this year(up 6-0 and "fumbled" on the 2-yard line with a chance to go up 14-0). I still think greeneville will win, just not as big as last 3 weeks.

no one expected a blowout with trezevant either...just sayin....at this point, I've learned one thing...expect the unexpected. IDK what kind of offense Giles runs, but I can almost guarantee you that they wont have nearly as good of a QB as they had 2 years ago. that kid single handedly killed us ( when we werent killing ourselves with turnovers) I have never doubted what the "sharks" can do, but I must admit, I've underestimated their ability to keep teams scoreless. I do know ONE thing, if i've learned anything this season. If you run it up the middle on Greeneville, you might as well just skip the first 3 downs and punt. I'll have to research Giles a bit before giving an "official" score prediction, but right now, not knowing squat about GIles, I'm gona throw 35-14 out there.

You seem like a knowledgeable person, so let me ask you a question: has greeneville ever lost a game without you making excuses? It seems as if no team just beats them: previous post mentions 3 players out and bad holding call, this one you all were "killing yourself with turnovers". Did the opponent not cause those turnovers? Listen, your Greene devils are an awesome team, just accept the fact that they lost a couple of games the past 3 seasons, without making excuses. They obviously learn lessons from those losses and dominate after them.

Let's compare opponents. Giles beat Dekalb Co. 35-28, Livingston Academy beat Dekalb Co. 42-7 a week or 2 before Giles. Fulton beat Livingston Academy 38-12 and had a 30-0 lead at the half. I know that has nothing to do with Giles and Greeneville, but just some added info. The Greeneville crew will be extra motivated this week.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
