strongx
I heard the replacement play caller at Maryville's last scrimmage was pulling "trick" plays out. In case everyone was wondering.....he is grounded.👠Just don't try to take the phone away!
strongx
Very interested in seeing how Maryville plays them. I expect Maryville to score on them, but I will really be paying attention to how they handle West on defense and stop their big plays.Kudos to west for scheduling the twin cities back to back for scrimmages. Nothing to fear from Alcoa or murvil this year, but most coaches will not make that commitment. Regardless of the scores, they have already won. You can't go against smaller or weaker teams in all of your scrimmages and spring games and expect to really get better. If you do, the things you need to work on and have fixed before the games count remain hidden and your team has a false confidence about their own abilities. Hammer I have preached that for years on here but some people don't like to hear the truth. I'll even tell you the truth who has the best concession stands and oh boy does that ever get the the natives going.

Find teams comptitive to or better than you to play in these games. Only way you get better.

BarneySox2007
I can see a bunch of the freshmen getting some starting time on the JV team and seeing some light duties with the varsity this year mainly because the sophomore class had a lot of attrition. Absolutely see none of the freshmen starting unless a rash of injuries started happening. Seems to be a very good class of Freshmen but it will be interesting to see if they start on the JV will they be on the freshmen team also. If not I see the freshmen team getting stripped of it's good players as did the seniors when they were in the 9th grade and ended up with a 4-4 record but won all their games when they were at the junior high.
