This guy is right. Maryville is overrated. They play weak competition. Red rebels are all hype. That's why they're top 5 in the state every year. Who would respect a program that Steelers fan says is top 5 in the state EVERY year

name one team outside of the semis or quarters that's worth 2 ***** that Maryville plays... If you say Alcoa I'll laugh you off this page.. And you wanna talk about a underachieving program look at your own Sdot... Sever county squanders teams almost every year.. And if you wanna bring up recruiting let's talk about the debacle you all had around this time last season with #7

For those of you new to D2, welcome.   You will not see as many posts on these message boards but remember each post actually counts as 1.8 posts on the D1 board, so in theory it evens out.

Make all privates move to D2 and be done with it.  Set there region schedule and let them play D1 schools as non region games.  MAKE ALL PRIVATES PLAY D 2!

The village idiot is back in 32. Seems like you proved your ignorance the last couple of years.

As for the Maryville recruiting....prove it or admit you are a liar.

I love how you guys are so quick to judge and point fingers at D2 schools and say “all them school recruit in that league" lol typical butthurt hicks... I don't need to prove Maryville does bc open zoning is basically recruiting but legal... I think the real reason why you guys don't like privates is maybe a tax bracket difference... 😊

You're not very good at spelling. And we went to state last year. I hope we have a debacle like that every year.

Last time Alcoa played a D2 school was McCallie the 2 years BJ Coleman played. Alcoa beat McCallie 2 years in a row. One year was the year McCallie played for the D2 title. Who did Alcoa lose to that year. Fulton and Maryville.

lmaoooo your bringing games from the 1980's into this hahaha... Your Pathetic just like the competion you all play.. In most of the games you guys play vs Ruth co teams you guys always get stuff to go yalls way convieniently i.e. Injuries, phantom penalties, etc... Not saying it happens all the time bc sometimes y'all just beat the teams but to actually think that you all are best in state is just absurd... Maryville is top 5 in state every year but the best?... No way

Keep on hating , it fuels the machine, lol  now go put some powder on your sore butt.

Nobody is pointing fingers at D11. Most, like me, don't care. The state of Tennessee has many counties with open zones and very few play for state championships. You D11 and super 7 guys are hilarious and dilusional.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
