Riverdale hires Will Kriesky

Here's hoping that Coach K brings a lot more life and energy than the bunch of "whatever happens happens and the coach has no control" posters that have jumped on this thread. I assure you that's not the Riverdale I saw under Coach Rankin.  They made things happen.  Hoping that Coach K is the kind of personality that influences what happens.

If I was in charge of the world I would have consulted with my SID before an announcement was made and even sought his input on the best way to handle it. The way it happened just seems a bit dysfunctional to me.  Details are important.

 

Too funny. How many high schools other than Riverdale even have an SID? The announcement was made via social media and local print media. We make an honest effort to keep our website as up to date as possible. But other things do have priority in life. Unless you were following local media or social media what would have even driven you to the website?

Everyone wants Coach K to succeed but that means a lot more than win and losses. The question is what will he bring to the table and do to rebuild the program. Here are a few things the parents are looking for:

1. Will he mandate a weight training and conditioning program that has results?

2. Will he recognize that the team needs depth and develop it?

3. Will he instill pride back into the program that has been lost?

4. Will be recognize the middle schools and see player development starts there and work with them?

5. Will he care about the community support and reach out to them to develop that relationship with financial supporters?

6 Will he work with the QB Clubs and reunite those relationships?

7. Will he care about the players and their college aspirations as they make the transition to college?

8. Will he reach out to kids in the school who should be playing but were not due to previous staff?

9. Will he realize that freshman and sophomores and depth needs to be built so they can step up when its their time and not forced into action before they are ready?

10. Will he instill Warrior Pride back into the program and actually attend a pep rally showing support to his players?

 

These are just a few things that the parents feel have go by the way side. Some may seem petty but on the  big scheme of these they all are greatly needed. If he can do these things the wins and losses will take care of themselves.

 

Its time to heal the program. Lets see if Coach k can be the physician the program needs...

He's been there so he knows what needs to be done. He's heard it from all the parents and supporters. So now the balls in his court. Lets see what he does..

He's already posted an announcement on tssaa for assistant coaches. Sounds like a good start to me.

Best wishes to Coach K! I am excited about him taking the helm of this program! GO WARRIORS! We all should be very supportive and positive for our players and our new coach! Sounds like he is already hard at work to change the culture of this program back to where it belongs! GO WARRIORS!!!

Thanks. Any coaching job is better than working at MJ. It is a coaching carousel at MJ, history does not lie. By the way, Riverdale did hire the right guy,ask the players. I would rather players name the coach than a bunch of guys who think they know.
