2017 1A Favorites?

My thought for next year is Huntingdon and WC will be top two from west. Dresden will be pretty good but we lose a ton. Guessing region 7 will come down to Dresden and LC (off 1968's) post if they keep the kids home.

West - Wayne County, Dresden, Huntingdon

 

East - SP, Greenback, Gordonsville, Coalfield

 

These are the teams with a chance at being in Cookeville for 2017. Some things never change.

WC loses a lot but are returning a lot of talent also, and like I mentioned in another post, only playing two quarters most of the year for the starters has given the younger boys great game experience and there's a few good looking boys coming up from middle school that could see some action early with a couple of them battling for a starting spot. WC will be returning a few juniors and seniors that have started every game since they got to high school and will have great leadership in the backs and line. Right now I'm giving Huntingdon the edge but we will just have to wait and see how that turns out!

I think Cornersville might be in the mix if they can get their line play up to par. They are mostly sophomores and that one back is really good. Problem is I think they are in the west next year?

They are in the west. Mark my words. 2016-2020 won't have anyone representing the east besides Greenback, Gordonsville or SP.

All our line is back too if not mistaken, especially 54 and 59! I expect it to come down to same teams as this year in our area. Good luck to The Kees this year though!

Sp has a group of 8th graders coming up that outscored opponents 384-74. So that's something to look forward to as they mature.

You are right. I shouldn't have left Coalfield out. Next year they will be senior loaded. If they don't make it back to Cookeville next season it won't happen for awhile.

Agree with this. If we have someone step up at RB then next year will be a big year for us but after next year the talent level drops big time.

You guys are the favorites from the East. If some teams get a few transfers,it could change.  Its crazy but this day and time its more about how much talent someone an add to their team. The world is evolving.

I don't think we will be adding any new players except for like 25 8th graders coming onto the team.
