Your 100% right . had he been at Oakland or Blackman he would most likely be undefeated. 265-0. One thing you have to remember that he lost three games his first year and four the second year and eight since then. Do you realize he was 10-7 in his first seventeen games at Maryville and has been 240-8 in the rest since. Before he came there Maryville was in a class lower and they now play the highest class of all so what else can you ask for.

you still sure about that buddy? Oakland literally took a crap on the rebels tonight. Coaching can only get you so far against great athletes

I am proud of the Maryville Rebels. They played hard last night. Defense played well. TD Blackmon is a stud. 13-1 is nothing to be ashamed of.

Oakland is good on offense. Good running game. Quarterback and receivers were good. Oline is good also. What makes Oakland great is that defense. I never saw a George Quarles team go against a better defense. It seemed like they had 20 players out there. Oakland defense is big, strong and very fast. Oakland was the better team

Very surprised that Maryville ran such a vanilla predictable offense.    I called nearly every play B4 they ran it, and if I can do that you know Oakland could....

Turning points in the game: 1) that fumble recovery that would have been a Maryville TD, but the whistle did blow a nanosecond before the fumble, and 2) that double pass early in the 3rd that was intercepted in the end zone.

Well as someone above said, nothing wrong with 13-1.    My team (Daniel Boone) will never see 13-1 and neither will any team here in the Tri-cities.

I have said for a long time Maryville does not do anything spectacular.  They just are very efficient, well coached and don't make mistakes often. That is the hallmark of a great program. Oakland had the team to win over them this year.

Just think most would consider this a "down" year for Maryville. I think most programs would love one of their "down" years.

Congratulations to Oakland for a great win, but the job is not done for you yet. Got one more game to win to claim it all.

Was surprised at your offense

I know OHS defense was lights out but was very basic

Thought Hopkins would have threw more

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
