tnhoosier
iWas at the game and the game was never in question, IMO. Yeah Pickett County made a couple of runs and was a good team, but every time they had to have a few buckets they got them. Pickett is a good team no doubt, but South Green was just on a different level. Without question SG was the best team in this tournament. No question, but to say they toyed with PC it's not reality. SG beat PC and deserved to but they didn't toy with them. Championship game was the 1st game.
Indian
Everyone has an opinion but arguing who is a better player won't go anywhere. SG had the better team, the most important thing.
kazam37
I agree with that.....that is why they won. Kaz

Pickett County had no one to stop her and every time they needed a bucket they went her way. Man I like Pickett County, a fun team to watch, and probably a good chance to win it all next year and maybe the early favorite. Lamb was just too much and her surrounding cast. If Pickett County had a big girl this year, might have been a different story. Edited March 12, 2017 by pioneer42
hsbbfn
Meadows is a great player offensively but on defense the other team just had to push it because if they do it's 5 on 4 because Meadows is still on the other end. Every time SG pushed it she didn't make it past halfcourt. Like to see her play after coach Insell gets her in shape.
hsbbfn
But that being said I'm sure the knee injury had a lot to do with part of that. Hats off to her for coming back and her rehab, sure it was hard. Seems like a good kid as well as player.

SG got up a couple of times but it was a one possession game for most of the 4th quarter. Being on a different level is winning by 25+ points not 5.... South Green had a post presence and Pickett didn't. After I watched the first two or three minutes, it was clear to me what was going to happen. No disrespect to Pickett. Same two teams played 10 elimination games, South Green wins 8-9, IMO. Edited March 12, 2017 by pioneer42
Rebel82
I'm glad Pioneer made this statement as an unbiased person, because I would have said the same thing. Also, SG often dominates in the 2nd half after struggling in the first. And they extended the lead to as much as 15 on several occasions in that 2nd half. And SG cleared their bench and Clarkrange scored several at the end. Lyndsey Cutshaw, the lone senior saw little playing time due to illness in her last two games and she is a big difference maker, especially on defense. I hated to see her miss out on all state her last year, though she was named to it in 2016. Edited March 12, 2017 by Rebel82
