Early Class AA Predictions

I stuck with Westview even though they lost a tough game or two... more talent and basketball players than people credited them with... they also know a thing or two about what it takes to get to the ‘Boro.... not every team knows how to win when it matters most.

On a different note, Westview Middle has a kid named Jada Harrison that you’ll hear about for the next few years... dropped 43 in the sectional championship game yesterday.

South Side and Westview have really kicked it into another gear lately.......Crockett and Chester are there waiting to crash the party

Apparently so...I wished someone on CoachT would give a breakdown of the game. What happened?? I was expecting CC to get them at home. Not surprised that Westview won, but that margin is kind of shocking.

I believe that's Tasia Jones' little sister. I've heard some of our girls talk about her being a player. 43?!?  Not bad for a junior high player. I'm just glad we "got" WV twice this year. Single A and Double AA tourneys (regionals) should be barn burners.....again.

Still have that feeling? I talked to one of my Westview friends tonight and he said it looked like they've went to their tournament press and plays early this year. He said they usually save those for the tournament, but tonight looked like they broke it out early. I wished someone would give us a breakdown of the game.

Very shocked at the score. Crockett County is a really talented team. Congrats to Westview for a great turnaround. They are obviously playing lights out right now.

Southside will be only team offering resistance to Westview and Crockett.  Rest of 14AA not consistent enough to do anything

I disagree! I think Chester Co can play with any team. I know Crockett has beaten Crockett twice already but don’t count them out.

One really good team is going home in the region semis over this way. You’ve got Upperman the defending state champion, Macon County the runner up and Cumberland County all of whom are top 10 AA teams in the state maybe top 5. One of them will go home in a region semi final game in a couple of weeks. Thursday nights game (Upperman at Macon) will be a good one. Upperman totally dominated the first match up but I have to believe Coach White has done his homework and will have his troops prepared.

I agree, you will have two of the top 5 teams in 2A not make it to the state. Meigs Upperman Macon and Cumberland County will probably have to batlle it out to see who goes. If they don’t get upset first.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
