Saw on a preseason all state team,Greenback and Lake Co have 3 players on the first team ,either on offense or defense and Lake Co has Keyshon Gross on the second team. And if young man from Cov is what I'm hoping, maybe only thing kept him off the team is him not being at Lake Co last year.

I think So.Pitts had best running back.QB was from Greenback along with a receiver.Another receive was on 2nd team from Greenback.Best lineman was Josh Puckett from Lake Co wiith Snyder from Lake Co also listed in the top 3 .

Greenback started this mess...lol.   So Lake Co only has 1 transfer. That moved from 60 miles away. Not just 3 miles from another school zone.

They started this thread to be able to have a decent football conversation on their own school thread without weeding through the cries and moans. Not the way I'd have done it as it's easier to just not comment on something that's silly, but its helped their thread some so it is what it is.

Talking about transfers.I noticed the QB and lineman from Freedom Prep were ineligible at Central and are now moving to play for Ravenwood.I think 5 players all total.Thinking 3 of them from Memphis.Surely all 3 families aren't moving.FRom my take on reading, maybe I'm wrong but it said their legal guardian was moving. Is he legal guardian over all 3?Seems like its going to be a mess.

I don't mind at all. Just spent more time lately trying to find a worthwhile post in 4 threads then reading a worthwhile post. Just figured all you folks wouldn't want your wife nagging you like that lol. Not sure why you'd enjoy being the instigator of a nag. Stuff like that doesn't bother me personally as I'm old enough not to bite for the most part. But sometimes I guess you just can't help it myself included.

Seems like that is actually worthy of it's own thread lol.

If Ryan is such a great coach and can develop talent then no need to go out and replace every need. He sounds like a great recruiter but not much else. Like I have been saying Huntingdon or Lake County will give anyone in the east all they want and more. I would rather have a coach who can develop his homegrown players than have one that relies on another coach to do it for him. If the community of Greenback is happy and content on winning with several other schools kids so be it. Not fair to the kids that worked their rear ends off for 3 years and then be denied by some shiny new toys but to each their own. Win at all cost Cherokees instead of Greenback. Like the post or not. It's the truth.

2 questions. One you “there is no need to go out....”. How do you know the coach went out and did anything?  Maybe the program and school at Greenback draws kids and families in. Second, how do you know these kids replaced a need?  I will say the same thing to you as i do Bass. Do you even know the kids names??

So your coach is the best lineman? I saw it was Campbell Puckett. Sounds a little fishy to me. Start a thread

    • Worst thing SC could do is get rid of Dyer. I agree with everything said above.
    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war.We had some quality wins this summer. Beat Huntingdon, Henry County, Bowling Green, Liitle Rock Central as well as a couple other quality Kentucky Teams. Westview's talent pool may not be what it has been without transfers the next few.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
