No, it’s not over. One loss doesn’t do it. Two losses won’t even do it when they are to quality higher level teams. Greenback is the team to beat in the east. I still feel strongly about it.

Geez!!Why Meigs is 2A. Basically the same level as 1A.

also if you think that then Greenback coalfield or South Pittsburg will get the brakes beat off of them in a championship game against Huntingdon or Lake County!

The only time SP ever had the brakes beat off them in a title game was by Brentwood Academy 35 - 7.

No,I’m just saying Meigs has the best player in 1-2A. They should be the favorite over SP and Greenback.  And no, whoever wins the SP/Greenback game, provided SP beats Gordy and Greenback beats Oz or Coalfield.. the game in Cookeville will be a good one as well.

Lake County likes to think they are but  they are NOT on the same level as Huntingdon. That game between them if it happens is a running clock  after Huntingdons first possession of the 3rd quarter

NCS and Dresden were like the 2007 SP team, the 1997, 1998, 2005 Trousdale teams. The 2000 CPA team, the 2001 Ezell Harding teams. They don’t come around every year.

The 1998 SP team was as good as the

98 Troutdale team....should have won that game

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
