I would like for you to take a look at Hunter Ensley from Huntingdon. He committed to play baseball at the University of Tennessee before he even played one inning of high school baseball (a Mr. Baseball candidate the past 2 years). He has also been a 4 year starter for the football team. A great QB that can run and pass and outstanding return specialist. But, his greatest strength is probably in the defensive secondary (4 year starter there). I truly believe he could played Division 1 at that position with his size, speed, and instincts.

These are the stats I could find:

Passing: 20-33, 628 yds, 10 tds, 1 Int.
Rushing: 83 carries, 960 yds, 11.6 avg, 20 tds
KR: 113 yds
PR: 233 yds
27 tackles, 3 ints

Not sure if he has any film out there on the Internet or on Hudl, but I would like for you to try to find if your able. He will jump out at you immediately on film. Appreciate it!

Jest what is his size & 40 time. The War Eagles could use more Tennessee talent.

Grabowski at Copper Basin is putting up great numbers and should get a look even though the competition hasn't been that great. But even thought he competition hasn't been great, Basin would not be doing as well as they are without him.  I don't think he should win it, but I do think that he should be looked at.

Grabowski has had a great year! If the game against North Georgia would have been played instead of being cancelled for weather only 2:33 into the game, then his numbers would be exponentially better. It was 16-0 in the 2:33.

Basin has another player with Chase Mickens that should be mentioned as a big play maker. With everyone mentioning Willis at Greenback, and rightfully so, Chase has been back and forth with him all season for #1 in the state for yardage.

Basin is doing great things this season and those two kids are a huge part of that. Glad to see things on the up swing!

In all respect those guys at Copper Basin aren’t anything like the ones at Greenback. I’m sure Grabowski is a good player but he’s not going to be on the level of the QB at Greenback. The Mickens kid is probably solid as well but Willis is on a different level. I saw his as a sophomore and knew he was big time. Greenback likely has 2 semifinalists this season.

Tanner Snyder of course, Larry Tubbs should be in the talk, and ima say Hunter Ensley should be in there as well! No need to names schools etc!

I’m gonna go out and say Tanner is the type kid you want your kids to grow up to be! Very humble player...no showboating! I’ve personally watched this kid grow up and he’s in and out of my house...his parents can pat themselves on the back (dad’s still a jerk)! My 7 year old idolizes the kid and I’m all good with it! Same can be said for Tubbs (his too)!

I agree with all 3. From what little I've seen of Snyder and Tubbs, they are definitely the real deal! Snyder is a tank!!

I mean as much as we like to heckle one another when it gets serious you gotta put all that aside...3 of the best I’ve seen this year! Ensley on film is really impressive...he and Tanner were both at UTM on Saturday! All I hear are good things about all three kids

Yes, I meant to mention Mickens as well. I can't wait to see them in person in a couple of weeks.

True, and that's why they will not win it.  But when you look at what they do for their team and their stats, they should at least get a nod.  Without them Basin would be battling it out with Sale Creek for 3rd in the region.  The winner will (or at least should) probably come from a team that has played a tougher schedule.

Of course if they throw for 300 against us next week then I will say they need a full fledged nomination.

Absolutely. I am a Mustang fan and want them to win every game, but I'm also a fan of the game, and there is no denying you guys have a very talented team. Also, the Tubbs kid reminds me a little of our #13 Lawton. Fast, swift, and hard to bring down.

Helps when you have really good kids to support

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
