I attended our road game Friday night and folks were allowed to enter the gate without wearing any masks.   Of course, they did check everyone's temperature before entering.  It seems to me some of these regulations that are in place are not gonna be enforced. Maybe they want to keep away from any confrontation that may or could arise I guess. Which is sad in my opinion.  IDK.   I wish everyone would take it upon themselves to follow what is in place and for the life of me I can't understand why some of you think it's such a big deal.   I for one want these kids to have their moment in the sun and have their season.  My advice is comply with what is in place or stay at home. Simple as that.  This ain't about you or me individually. It's about all of us together.  It's about these kids.  It's about them being able to play the sport they love in front of their families, friends and communities.  There's a reason these regulations are in place.  So we could possibly have a safer way to enjoy some normalcy and enjoy watching these kids play.

I'll finish my thoughts with this:  If the TSSAA cancels these kids season because of non compliance of their regulations then I'm gonna blame some of the people in this room.  And then, I do not forgive.

Southtowner….Thank You for your post!  The game is truly that simple, just comply.  If we do what is required then the kids play and all of the hyperbole takes care of itself.  I recognize that we all have a value or belief system, but every now and then we have to compromise for the greater good.  The greater good right now is the kids.

Someone should tell metro that the kids are being denied their football season. I truly hope this is not a political decision and kids being used. I do find it interesting that DCA can be having football game played last Friday and McGavock HS 5 miles away can not even have contact practices. Maybe the virus only affects certain events and parts of town. Let the kids play for goodness sake.

So, if a place has a sign up that mask wearing is required, whether that is a doctor's office or Home Depot or a ball game.... then common sense and common decency would win out and people would do so or not enter said premises.  Right?  And people wouldn't whine and cry over wearing a mask for a few months to a few places and they could stop making bogus disingenuous arguments about "masks = socialism" or "I'm a real American, I don't have to" or "Jesus didn't wear a mask, so I ain't gonna neither" or "masks are a plot against whites and Christians" or "today's it's masks... tomorrow they will take away our guns" or etc etc etc etc

Lmao a plot against whites?? The way America is set up I wouldn’t be surprised if a black man was murdered because he didn’t wear a mask.

That is why it was in a list called "bogus and disingenuous (dishonest) arguments about masks."

But in this current climate of insane paranoid conspiracy theory nonsense,  you hear lots of bogus and disingenuous arguments about masks and everything else out there.

Why does High School Football have to become a centerpiece for political opinions and racial remarks? Can we just talk about football on this message board? I feel like I get enough of political agendas and racism everywhere else.

Probably why the T has let this thread live,so we could talk about Covid and  politics and never accomplish anything,,while we talk about the games on other threads. I'm with you on the political stuff.I can't wait to turn on the TV and watch another add about how bad the other side is doing. I've narrowed down  who I'm going to vote for  to three ,after going down the GOP  ticket for the undercard.the more I watch , I've thought about a write in....Mr.B . I've kept up with him since the sixties and he is a winner like no other.

And you and your liberal minions are directly responsible for probably 90% of it.

You guys have perfected nonsense since Billary got beat.

You don't like him grizz. I get it.

I do though and I'm going to vote for him again. Even if I don't he's still going to get Tennessee's electoral votes. It's already determined.

Put that 26 pages in your thesis. Maybe it'll help you get a useful degree.

Herbert Hoover was regarded as one of the worst presidents of all time and still got 39% of the vote.
