Well coached ok they will be coached for sure. Same thing was said last year when they played Huntington and Westview. Held Huntington under 100 total yards of offense and 7 points the entire game. Huntington was averaging 40 points a game 300 plus yds rushing. Not to mention they beat Peabody. Held Ty Simpson to worst game of his high school career 7-19 79yds 2 force fumbles 3 sacks 1 int! They offense had a terrible night 6 turnovers!
It’s the even number side to Host the playoffs . There will be playoffs in Memphis this year.

Outscored Huntington by 1 point so how suspect is their offense and they didn't even score vs Westview so just how much improved is their offense this year?  They play weak schedule as well so when they finally run into these other teams who play quality competition and even play up in classes can they handle the likes of those teams who are already battle tested going into that game.

Good point its just hard to tell at this point. Their size and athleticism is going to keep them in any game they play in though. You definitely don't want them to get up on you too much  where they can just pin their ears back and come after you.

Just be there when it all goes down!

Come on down to Memphis and see for yourself.

The schedule already made because of the 2 cycle. The team was 2-7 last year.

Some good 901 Soul food might be worth the trip. I understand how scheduling works.. clearly playing a weak schedule hurt yall come playoffs last year what makes it anymore different this year besides adding another schools starting players. Id be willing to bet skill player wise Mckenzie and City have just as good of talent and City def has the size to match across the board. Yall have to get through Peabody first..their tradition speaks for itself. Long season to go for everyone hope all these teams all heathly come playoff time. It'll be a war to make it to Chatt.

I guarantee Lake County will go to Memphis in the 2nd round and give MASE all they want. LC will not be a pushover for no one in the playoffs. Everyone has wrote the Falcons off. Imo people will be surprised. As it looks now LC will play them in the 2nd round.

Calm down no one has written lake county off

Oh I am fine. I truly hope everyone has written the Falcons off. LC has usually thrived in the underdog role.  MASE just might be the best team in the west. The jury is still out on them. I will most certainly be traveling to Halls later in the year when MASE plays the tigers on a Thursday night.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
