The only thing I hate about high school football is that there isn't anyone reporting on what's happening in team news during the off season such as transfers, interviews with coaches, when spring practices are and much more. Most things we hear are something third hand through the grapevine. If it were college football those fans are filled with information overload. There seems to be a big void there for the high school fan like all of us on here.

Barney, this a good point. I remember when Jim Davis covered local sports in Sevier County  and he was on top of everything. He covered high school, middle school, English mountain football, sevier county elementary basketball, Sevierville pony league games, anything you can name.  If it involved sports in sevier county he covered it. I also remember when Keith Jones was sports editor and he did a really good job covering local sports. I was happy to pay for a newspaper subscription back then. But now local sports barely get covered.  I can read more on coach T or Facebook than I can in the local paper. But I’m not spewing venom. I realize the obstacles local newspapers face and I appreciate the efforts they give on local sports. But I do miss the old days when the local newspapers covered all the local sports. Guess I’m just an old timer sitting in the stands with no insight on local sports. Or fundamentals of the sports being played.

Agree 100%. Maybe the info is available somewhere, I don’t know. I’m not sure if there is any team news.
