Polk came ready to play and Meigs thought they would win easily, you just never know with a bunch of teenagers, just like Meigs had no problem moving the ball on Stone, scoring 33 and a good York team could only score 14, it’s a good thing that the Meigs defense showed up last night or we could have left there with a L

So true about teenagers.

This Meigs team seems to be like some decent Oneida teams of the past a "good" team that plays to the competition.Davis is a good coach and I'm sure it was played the way he liked it.If Polk had an offense they would stun some folks.

Thinking back on our season, Im not sure you are wrong. Any team with a good record we showed up and showed out. Not sure what this was. :excl:

Not a bad thing really.Just win!TSSAA doesn't give credit to other teams very often.Regardless what transpired the other team WAS on the field and did have something to do with the outcome of the game.Derric Davis is a good coach and has been while coaching at Polk those kids play hard for him.Good win as usual Yeti, the WIN is all that matters everything else will work out in time. The BEST you can ask for is to be put out by Alcoa, that's the end of the road and is very respectable!

Yorks offense isn't very good tho.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I watched Polk play twice this year and I didn't get that impression from him. He's old school for sure but his offense was very poorly coached. Maybe he's not the OC. But they couldn't figure out easy blocking assignments. Made no adjustments either. Just kept doing the same thing, over and over.

Meigs Co might be “going to the state championship”. Hope they have a spot for the silver ball. I’m ready for Alcoa to either go private or play 6A. The “open enrollment” situation needs the attention of the TSSAA atp. All the good athletes in Blount Co end up at Alcoa and it’s getting abhorrent that a school with their “enrollment numbers” send a half dozen kids to play college football Every Year. Greenville is and example. But they don’t have the recruiting budget (thanks to Alcoa Aluminum Corp) or the job opportunities (thanks again) that Alcoa utilizes. So good luck to whoever makes it to Chattanooga to grab the runner up trophy.
