I am afraid this season is about to go off the side of the mountain.

Well, since there aren't any mountains between here and Cleveland, I disagree.

All of the best movies start out with everything going good, then disaster strikes, and then the champion gets up off the mat.

I'm hoping for a Hollywood ending.

Don't know how the rest of the Maryville season will go.  I  know I am fired up about the future. Will Jones will shatter all the records before he is through.  Maryville also has a lot of kids coming back. Sophomore class is good.  Freshmen are loaded.  They have dominated all year even without Will Jones.

The future is definitely bright. I was really glad to see some new wrinkles in the offense, and they called plays aggressively. Defense had its most dominant performance on the year. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it happened the same night the 3 man line went away.

Believe me they read social media. If the wildest thing happened and Derek Hunt stepped down as coach most of the defensive side coaches would have to know a new hire would come in and send them all packing especially for losing two of their games for that reason alone. I was at Home Depot yesterday and someone came out the door I yelled at that has some influence at Maryville and the very first words out of his mouth when he approached me was he was tired of this s***. The disruption the defense caused really set the tone for the ball game. Just one move and it was so simple.

Congrats on a good looking win. A lot of guys played well. It was good to see Murvil get most of the breaks. This group has played pretty hard all year without getting many breaks IMO. (Except for the collarbones, lags, noses etc)

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
