Can Anybody Win at Glencliff?

That seems like one of the worst jobs in the State and it got posted a few days ago. Is anybody ever going to be able to do better than like 2-8 there? Seems tough on the kids...coaches...everyone involved...

Short of there being major changes within MNPS, no. Your talking about a school that nearly eliminated football just a few years ago

Seems like they had some really good teams in the 90s? Didn’t they make it to the state championship once years ago back in those days? Just looked…Lost to Sevier County in the ‘99 state championship. I knew they made it one of those years.

Rezoning hurt them.  They had some good players back then.  They last time Gallatin played them, they had more than 9 interpreters for the team.

Metro is open zone now. As long as that stays the same, nothing will change at Glencliff.

This year's coach got fired for something outside of football.

Glencliff was good when they got their third of Melrose kids. Hillsboro and Overton got the other thirds. Once metro shifted school zones, glencliff dropped off. Now with the free for all, glencliff is more of a soccer school if anything.

I thought Melrose was a Memphis High School?  Maybe you are saying Melrose is a middle school in MNPS, or a neighborhood or something. Not really up on MNPS  middle schools or neighborhood/school zones?

Funny story about playing Glencliff. Hville played them about 10 years ago at Glencliff.  Entire chain crew quit at half time. PA guy has the following announcement “ have you ever wanted to be part of the chain crew, now is your chance”. Fortunately 2 of our regular guys  were at the game and filled in.

Another funny thing, I don't remember which year, maybe 2020, when Glencliff and Gallatin was in the same region the last year.  It was getting closer and closer to kickoff time at the Wave Yard, and still no Glencliff.  They finally rolled in just before kickoff, pretty much marched to their sideline, and started playing the game with zero warmups.
