I watched a few Huntingdon games this season. Warbritton is a fantastic back. I saw Peete against Huntingdon, Fairley and of course in person last week. He is a very good back as well. I’m bias about the Huntingdon player too. He does all the above also has great hands out the backfield.And plays great defense,seen his career stats on defense around 300 tackles and 10 ints. But everyone thinks the players they watch the most and root for are the best.

Like I said he is a fantastic player. I didn't see the 30 int. That would put him pretty high on the list of career picks in TSSAA.

Sometimes bias doesn't matter. I'm not at all biased in the matter and think that it's shameful to promote this award as "best" or "most valuable" in their classification then use the kids age and eligibility as a metric. If Simpson were a Senior and Smith a Freshman, there wouldn't be a discussion at all because Simpson would have walked away with the honor without much discussion. I even get that upperclassmen have proven over time that they're consistent in their excellence, but sometimes obvious talent level and proficiency should IMO override that. Bottom line is, if you give the committee each kids yearly statistics without names or class...even including opponents' strength of schedule and success rate, Simpson's stand head and shoulders above anyone and everyone else, probably stands true for the past decade or two's past winners as well.

This ^^^^ all day long! I know there have been a couple/few back to back Mr Football’s but, can you imagine having one kid get it for all four years of his high school career? I’m sure that played into the committee’s mind as well.
