There’s really no good way to do it other than blind draw. State polls are voted on by high school sports writers who really only see teams in their area all season. TSSAA could save themselves a lot of grief by live streaming the draw. There’s enough technology available to make that easy

You said earlier us AP voter "fat guys" didn't know anything. Make up your mind. I'm not in favor of any seeding unless a quantitative system is developed that would include out of state opponents. I just want the draw to at least be zoomed to the coaches. I don't have to see it live but they should.

Disagree. AP poll voters are local sports writers. Most of these guys do a great job in their local market but have no way of knowing what teams in other areas look like. It’s not like college where games are televised. Most weeks the AP poll has 10-15 voters statewide.

How about this @tssaa we all say that the rankings mean nothing during the regular season! Let’s change that asap! Let’s use the state rankings as seeding slots instead of these “blind draws” that isn’t too blind. If you work hard all year & be ranked #1 & your reward is playing the #2 team in the state. They should be on opposite brackets. If you wasn’t ranked, you would be one of the lower seeds. Use the final ranking for example #1 SS vs #8 Dyer County #3 LA vs #5 Greenville #2 Upperman vs #7 Dyersburg #4 Elizabethton vs #5 Gibson County I would promise you that TSSAA would definitely fill them stands up! The city of Murfreesboro will be ridiculous! Hotels & restaurants would be full Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday! Let’s make basketball great again

I agree, time for a new thread. Stadium visitor side has been completely demolished. How long before the new side is completed? A few former Wave players have chosen to go a different route and transferred but I am hearing several walking the halls are joining the team. Looking forward to seeing what the QB’s can do this year. Both Jackson and Riley can sling it!

There's simply not going to be a perfect way to execute this plan. I do understand there are some frustration, but no one is going to be happy whether if we do this process or if we do it through a computer metric system. With that being said, I do like Upperman in AAA. Have a feeling it'll be their tournament.

Horrible job by TSSAA! Clearly the positioned teams from areas to play each other so multiple teams from that same area can’t advance on! Total disgrace!

Trae McDaniel is in. EIWA gets four bids at 149 and the worst he can finish is fourth. The guy who beat Trae in the main draw made the finals (against Yianni). Trae has looked really really good. Just really impressed with how he is going about his business.

How do you know that?I've researched him,no head Coach experience. Good high school player for sure.We need a proven HC at this point.The mess this last coach has done is going to be hard for an inexperienced young coach.I do think he has alot of potential IF IT IS ACTUALLY HIM also.lol.Also he will be looking to move on to bigger things after he is established because of the money and his age,and we need a long term hire.If they will not hire Greg back he may get his shot.I did hear the Assistant from Riverdale interested was wanting to be closer to home so he does make sense to be the one.

They used to live video it and all participating coaches were on hand for the draw. I don’t know why they don’t go back to this! Many people tuned In to watch and see who they would play!

I don't like the TSSAA, but it truly is a blind draw from what I've been told by people I trust. Face it, you have to play good teams in substate play in order to make it to state - where you have to play someone that is most likely one of the best 8 teams in the state. Some are better no doubt, but your job as a coach is to overcome the team you play in order to advance. Bradley, Bearden, Blackman, and Cookeville in the same bracket seems daunting, but you have to play the best to win state.

All Westview has to do is turn on last years state championship game. Y’all’s 2-3 zone was tough on them. I wouldn’t press them. They handle pressure really well. I would set back and protect the rim and make them beat me outside.

In the tourney, if both teams keep winning...eventually you got to play it sometime, right? To me, York is the favorite before the tournament begins....but I don't see WV being overwhelmed in the moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see WV throw their press on them, which they tend to do against "much" bigger teams. Should be a good one either way. At the end of the day, if WV doesn't win it...I hope GC gets it (I'm biased).

4A draw is ridiculous. All the best teams in one bracket? How does that happen? Someone tell us how they drew these teams out. Was it truly a blind draw?

All of the Huntingdon Fillies loses were to teams that are going to the glass house. Plus we beat Dresden twice and Riverside who are also going. How's that for luck!

The bottom bracket might have the 4 best teams in it. Bradley, Bearden, Blackman and Cookeville. That’s crazy

Does anyone know when the last time that all 8 teams have came from just 4 regions? Also it looks like they went with Region Champs on one side of the bracket and region runner ups on the other side, super weird if you ask me.

We definitely make good teams look great and bad teams look good at times, and it blows my mind when you’re getting beat by 20 and you have players sitting on the bench laughing and cutting up and they go in the game and have no idea what to do.

Central is young they have no seniors and they are well coached. Alcoa and GP are neck and neck with each other and I would take Central over either. And remember McMinn Central is the only team to beat Bradley Central.

West also well represented by (and congrats to) Scotts Hill, Riverside, and Dyer County. And Bartlett too out of Shelby County. West TN was undefeated vs Middle TN teams in sectionals.

Y’all took it right to us. We came back, y’all came back. Just a war. Very impressed with Loretto and what y’all have returning. I can see a team similar to what y’all had the last few years at the Boro. Very good to see you and Ashley. Good people. Think a lot of Loretto. Prayers to these young ladies and hope they heal up soon.

He’s a VERY good coach. He will change the culture at Smith co and he’ll attract good players. Winners follow winners and Coach Ferrell is a winner. Smith Co will be a common name in district/region championships in the near future.

That's a compliment to Summertown's fight when they could've folded. Get your emotions off your sleeve. WV isn't full strength either....just an fyi.

Summertown wasn't going down without a fight and maybe NWHoopaholic can give us some percentages, but I don't believe either team tonight missed a free throw in the entire game, and I've never witnessed that in a high school basketball game ever. Summertown shot the 3 ball very well. It was a good hard-fought game and Summertown could've folded when they were down 14-16 points, but kept fighting. Much respect. Congrats as well to GC, SS, South Gibson, Dresden, Peabody, McKenzie, and Dyersburg. The West will be well represented and there should be some great games in the Glass House this upcoming week.

Has nothing to do with WB being a "coach killer" and everything to do with Shad being a mediocre coach at best with a poor work ethic, as has been illustrated by the stories in this thread. I've also heard that he called practices because he was annoyed that the team wasn't focused. What kind of coach does that? His teams weren't disciplined. His in-game play calling was often questionable. He always showed his arse yelling at officials during games. He also wasn't really friendly to media, aside from his buddy Stork. Oh yeah, and his uniforms were ugly and boring AF. GovForce just sayin.
