  1. Elizabethton finally gets DB back on the schedule. And with the Maupin kid (QB-SR) transferring to DB from Betsy last January, could make things even more interesting. I guess it’s only fair. We got a Maupin in 2019, they get one now. The Greeneville game is the regular season finale. Slobber Knocker!

  2. NCAA Should of gave Tennessee the death penalty but that's hard to do three years later to a group of kids that had nothing to do with it or even knew who Pruitt was.

  3. Not every student, but if there is a complaint filed, they do check it out to verify what the complaint says is true, or not true, whichever ends up being the case. It would be impossible for the TSSAA to check the residency of every student to plays sports in Tennessee. Just not enough manpower. That's a responsibility of the local school districts when they determine if a student lives or receives a transfer to their system.

  4. I watched the best game I've seen the last two years on Rivalry Thursday. There isn't a more entertaining game than what's happened with Alcoa and West the last two years. West won by 3 last year and Alcoa one in overtime the year before. As a neutral, that's the Most entertaining ticket recently.

  5. With 5 stop signs today in 16U and 1 in Juniors TN set a new record for our most stop signs ever in Freestyle Last year was the most stop signs ever won in Fargo at 14 but we only won 4 stop signs in Freestyle so we are ahead of last years record pace as we head into Greco. 2022 16U FR - 2 AA Juniors FR - 2 AA 16U GR - 7 AA (team finished 6th beating MN and IL) Junior GR - 3 AA Total 16U - 9 Total Juniors - 5 Grand Total - 14 2023 16U FR - 5 AA (team finished 7th beating MN) Juniors FR - 1 AA here is the totals for the last few years.. before 19 we had a long drought.. 19 - 10 total. 20- Covid 21 - 4 total 22 - 14 total 23 - 6 so far The trend and growth is nothing sort of unbelievable.

  6. Well, our softball season ended yesterday and the girls are shooting roundball again. This year has me intrigued and hopeful at the same time. Softball wasn't kind to us as far as injuries go. Regan Blair broke her ankle and will miss summer camps. My daughter Eowyn suffered a high ankle sprain and wore a boot for 2 weeks but should be good to go. We will probably go 8 deep during camps with a lot of younger kids. We won't have Saharra, Regan, or Izzy so it will be a challenge that I believe will help some kids learn to step up their game. I'm just curious on what everyone's thoughts are about this region now that it will look different.

  7. According to my cousin's boy, who played for Milan and just graduated. Beating Huntingdon means more. As someone who lives basically directly between Milan and Huntingdon it doesn't seem close. Just my opinion thanks for the clarification though I do see what you're saying just disagree.

  8. Nah, I’m good. Won’t sell my soul for a few gold balls. Love my Wildcats too much. Nothin’ but love for ya, though.

  9. CJ Smith and Marshaun Bowers are the real deal. Coach Lamar Brown will have some serious players on the Defensive side of the ball.

  12. I attempted to verify all this with two different websites. While these two schools are not close in proximity (3 hrs away), they have quite the history due to their 1A sustainability (don't ever see them moving up) and their successes on the football field not only against common opponents but each other. The Wayne County Wildcats and Moore County Raiders have met a total of 39 times. In 1959 the two teams first met on the gridiron but interestingly enough Moore County was then known as Lynchburg. Wayne County won the first ever clash 28-14. After this initial meeting the two teams played 3 times in the 60s. In 1960, Lynchburg took revenge winning 14-6. Later they went on to beat Wayne Co in 63 and 64 by the scores of 12-6 and 27-6. The two teams did not play again until 1971. In 1971 Lynchburg then became known as Moore County High. Moore County won the first meeting under their new name 14-3. The only other meeting in the 70s was a 30-8 victory by Wayne County in 1972. After a huge gap and some region realignments, the two teams squared off again in 1983. Wayne County won 7-0 and the games continued on in the 80s with the following results: 1984 Moore Co 29 Wayne Co 0 1985 Wayne Co 15 Moore Co 0 1986 Wayne Co 13 Moore Co 6 1987 Wayne Co 28 Moore Co 6 1988 Moore Co 48 Wayne Co 0 1989 Moore Co 27 Wayne Co 0 The eighties finished with Moore Co collecting only 3 wins to Wayne County's 4. The nineties were not kind to the Wildcats but as you'll see going forward this rivalry is streaky. In the nineties the Raiders went 7-3 over their rivals but what is more interesting is the region was won by one of these two teams for the entire decade with Moore winning the crown every year except for Wayne Co being the region champ in 1994. Results: 1990 Wayne Co 43 Moore Co 7 1991 Moore Co 20 Wayne Co 6 1992 Moore Co 35 Wayne Co 20 1993 Moore Co 28 Wayne Co 0 1994 Wayne Co 27 Moore Co 7 1995 Moore Co 42 Wayne Co 33 1996 Wayne Co 21 Moore Co 14 1997 Moore Co 7 Wayne Co 0 1998 Moore Co 28 Wayne Co 14 1999 Moore Co 40 Wayne Co 3 The 2000s brought in a change of scenery as the Wildcats decided to dominate the next decade by winning 7 contests in a row. The Raiders won in 2000 by a score of 28 to 13 but then Wayne Co went on their roll. 2001 Wayne Co 7-0 2002 Wayne Co 15-8 2003 Wayne Co 18-2 2004 Wayne Co 28-21 2005 Wayne Co 26-21 2006 Wayne Co 21-14 2007 Wayne Co 40-27 2008 Moore Co 17 Wayne Co 14 After a two year hiatus, the teams began play again in 2011. 2011 Wayne Co 49 Moore Co 14 2012 Moore Co 30 Wayne Co 0 2013 Wayne Co 28 Moore Co 0 2014 Wayne Co 33 Moore Co 7 Starting in 2015 realignment hit again and the series was put on hold. To my knowledge the teams did not meet again until a playoff matchup in 2020. The Raiders dominated the playoff contest 49-14. Starting in 2021 the teams became region opponents again with Moore Co winning 26-13 and winning again in 2023 by a final score of 34-25. If you are still with me, I say all this to say what an amazing rivalry! I have the teams meeting a total number of 39 times with Moore Co winning 20 times and Wayne Co winning 19 times. It doesn't get anymore evenly matched than that my friends!

  13. You mentioned other states where this happens and it certainly does. However you mentioned Texas. In Texas you can not move for athletic purposes and be eligible with out sitting a year. In Texas they also check the residence and find out who is living there and are they staying there every night. If you get a job transfer they want to see the paperwork showing it. If the kids makes a statement on social media or to anyone that reports it saying he moved to play for x team or to win he is not eligible. They are extremely struct in Texas on transfers which is a big reason that the state is still dominated by the public schools and also why the gap between the haves and haves nots is not as large in other sates. Personally I see both sides. If the kids is in a program that is not pursuing excellence in football why should he be punished for wanting to develop his skills. However when allowed it creates what we have in TN. The issue will only worsen as well. With the public schools in the state not believing in funding for football at a high level.

  14. Player movement Jeff Miner, Hardin Valley Academy: "In Knox County, one of the biggest things is just keeping players. Players in this county go all over the place. Regardless of where they live go to schools across the county or down the road or whatever. I think the biggest challenge in Knox County — we have three private schools that sit in our zone you know. We’re bordered by some really good programs so one of the biggest challenges for us is keeping all the kids that live in Hardin Valley,"

  15. I think that is shaping up to be a fun new rivalry. just 5.5 miles down granny white, kinda like the battle of the blvd between belmont and lipscomb u. I just wish BA had 2 sets of bleachers. i do not like sitting on the same side as the opposing fans.

  16. FWIW, Hill was AWOL for a big chunk of the summer, so this wasn't surprising, the timing just happened to work out like that. They both have similar running styles and abilities, but Morris is just put together a little better. I don't think one had anything to do with the other Oakland's scrimmage schedule ( far as I know) is CR, McCallie and MBA

  21. Personally I'm fine with it. If a kid and their family see somewhere else as a better opportunity for themselves then why not? I'm just glad these kids are staying in state because they're fun to watch.

  22. Thats great to hear. I think you all will compete well in your district. WG is gonna be down and C-D is decent. We got some good news. Izabella is cleared to play the beginning of the season. I think Rae will hear something soon. We'll have 2 of the 3 stars to start the season and that'll be big for us. Our rebounding in camp was not very good and Izzy is a star at getting boards. Rae and Makinna will get us down the floor against anyone.
