I really think it is comical how a lot(not all) of the Milan fans are getting worked up because, in someones opinion, that Loudon and CAK are both as good as Milan.

Being a parent of a (senior) player at Loudon, I appreciate the compliments from the fans of Alcoa, our boys have busted there tails off. They are correct in stating that our team along with CAK has had to get better to compete with them, as they are the measuring stick in our region. Could either of us beat Milan? I don't know and we will never find out. I wish we could have went to the middle quad or even to the East, but we didn't and here we are. I will say if you look at our quad in the playoffs....Alcoa, CAK, Loudon, Polk and McMinn Central, Tyner, Bledsoe and Kingston..... If you don't think that was the toughest, then you need to quit drinking whatever you are drinking.

I have learned on here over the last four-five years, not many teams have played them close or beat them. If they said someone is a good ball team, they must have done something to earn their respect as most games are blow outs.

I personally think this will be a good ball game as Milan is a very, very good team and could pull off the win. But until someone does it, I think Aloca is the better team. As for riding there coat tails, that is a load of "crap". We are pulling for our Region to take care of business....... As we do respect the Alcoa program for what they have accomplished the last 5 years.

Good Luck to both teams and congratulations for reaching the finals

Why are some of the Milan fans already looking for excuses in Alcoa's open school zone policy before the game has even been played? ;)

School systems are either "zoned" where students go to school in their geographic area, or "open" where students have a choice entering the 9th grade to go to a school of their choice in the county, or another county if the school board allows students from other counties. Smith County is the latter. The local school board sets the policy as to whether zoned or open and the individual schools no say as to the ruling. Now, I don't know what system Alcoa is under, but the local officials make the ruling, not Alcoa High School.

I love the Louden and CAK fans that come on here and talk down to Milan. How they can't beat Alcoa.

OBVIOUSLY you can't! Everyone knows in West TN, that Alcoa will be in the SHIP every year, because no one over there can step up for one game and win. WHERE has LOUDEN AND CAK been the past 6 years???

You can't lose to Alcoa twice, every year, then come on here and talk about how the Alcoa team will destroy another team. Sour grapes. If I lose to a team TWICE, every year, I might just jump on that wagon and down-talk the other team the next week too. NOT.

As a follower of McMinn Central football, I appriciate this post. I said from the start if we, being the second place in our district, could have played in a different quad we could have gone a lot further. Loudon and CAK were better teams than us, and we had a good team this year. I told someone that I knew we would beat York. Milan, probably not. I think Alcoa is a solid 14 point favorite in my opinion.

Everyone in the west knows alcoa will be there, everyone in the east knows alcoa will come back champs. They are supporting their region. Do you expect them to cheer on milan? They just know what milan is in for, and they feel their programs could compete with them.

When will a team from the west step up for one game?

Lol yal people crack me up. I mean to think that adults can act the way they do over an online thread lolololololol But anyways here I go. Milan's D is one of the best they've had over the years and i know you ALL know about Avery Williamson=DON=UK Signee k? K enough said. Milan's D will stay true again Friday and show everyone how to hit and STOP the run.

Milan's offense. I believe this is all up on Milan's O Line. If they can get some push up front then I believe Jobronski and Avery can put up some points. I think this will be a low scoring game though.

I think we can all agree that Alcoa has the slight edge but Milan just never gives up. I hope to see Milan pull this one out in a close one::::::::: MILAN 24 ALCOA 21

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
