Red Rebels
Just lurking on here lately. What school is Big Red Big Blue. Sorry for the capitalization. Public schools 1-12, Private University.
AlcoasPaintedBridge
well with Gary Rankin at the helm, you guys certainly are the experts on chickening out, so I trust your judgment on that one. That's pretty funny, considering we actually play Maryville, unlike...what's the name of your school again?
baylorbigdog1976
No that's not the reason .. The reason is the same as it is here with Brentwood , franklin, Beech..Mount Juliet....( insert team ) why put yourself in a position where you could lose a game or 2 ....and lose by alot .. If you can beat up your county and talk down to heritage, wb and Knox catholic and go on to win a gold ball while going undefeated 3-4 years why bother ? Why bother .... People find a reason to not do things .. We make decisions in life based on the upside and downside .. And their is little upside.. No one is doubting maryville and Alcoa are class programs .. It was a fair ? And I think in the end even if the BC schools consider it an option will sit back and say .. What is it we gain from this ? Nada . The only teams who will play the privates here are the small public schools who get blown out .. They play because the upside for them is greater than the down ...they see a team that is better than anyone they will face all year .. And it helps them prepare down the road .. jake
I heard Rankin will be the next coach at MBA. I don't know how reliable the source was, but he lives in Nashville area, and said that he had heard this.

GREYRIDER
My sources tell me that he has already agreed to take the helm of the sinking Catholic ship but I don't see it because he will have to build it back.
big red big blue
okay, for the thousandth time.... Maryville (since this is a thread about Maryville) has no obligation or need to play private schools from Nashville. Maryville (as best I know) had no involvement in the creation of the public/private split in 1996. Maryville has no history or tradition (that I'm aware of) with any Nashville-area private schools. If Maryville for whatever reason wants to start playing Nashville-area private schools, they can at any time they want. If Maryville doesn't want to, then Maryville doesn't have to explain why, or defend itself. I believe most Maryville fans think this way, and don't care either way. As do most MBA/BA/EHS fans. GREYRIDER
You guys are clown shoes. I guess our "misinterpretations on aid" are just as diluted as your concept that BC teams could not play to the level of the Privates. There is a new contract open for two years for the BC Bowl. Tell your coaches to sign up, or shut the heck up. yyuuuuuupp!

OldRebel2
At least the Rebels got rid of "can't play with the big boys" accusation from all those years.
