It's all good plumb. Anybody (including me) who pokes at the old coach is crazy. His numbers are incredible and he is a hall of famer. But he moved on and would likely admit he had plenty of help throughout the program - especially the garbage service! The young coach is on his way to 251.

I do agree with you , anyone who pokes the Old Coach IS Crazy . Maryville was very Lucky to have Coach Quarles , and now we're Lucky to have Coach Hunt !

I don't get your panties in the water because we said you coach every coach has the right to assemble his team if he kept the old staff. I just know the old Maryville head coach would have not never allowed this minute points scored on his team throughout the season plus you lost one game and you had several close call Oaklnd by four touchdowns.  I got them riled up now

I would even say that the young ball coach carried the old ball coach the last several years. This year's offense has been completely dominant but for week two. We will find out Friday if that was more Oakland or more injuries.

Interesting take, hadn’t heard that around Maryville until now but I am definitely not one of the insiders, either. IMO,  I think Derek is definitely a good coach but way too early to compare him to Quarles.

As for your other comments, it will be interesting to see how it goes Friday. MHS should be a slight favorite, IMO since it is a home game and they only lost by 3  at Oakland without Hopkins earlier. However, Oakland D did totally shut down Hopkins & Maryville offense last year except for one somewhat fluky play. Oakland D is good again this year but not as good as last year, IMO so we will see Friday night.

This has the makings of being one of the best games I can remember in recent years...Oakland has a great team that is very well coached and playing with a ton of confidence....Murvil just doesn't lose at home and have looked like a machine on offense the last few weeks, and the defense has improved so much over the last few weeks.  Hopkins is the key that makes Murvil unstoppable.....if Hopkins can play the entire game I pick Murvil to win this one.  Go Rebels!!!
