I rewatched the game today and noticed that they didnt stop throwing the ball because they were are a run heavy, 1st, or what have you team, and that is what got them there. They quit throwing as much after the 3rd or 4th series of the game in the 2nd qtr when the QB took a hard hit on a sack. It looked like he landed on his arm/shoulder and just was not the same throwing the ball after. HC is always well coached and I knew there was a better explanation than that is what they do and it is what got them there.....lol

I thought the same thing when I saw that play live.

The possession after the big sack HC was 3 and out for 0 yards. That was probably the result of the sack.

Wind behind them the 1st qtr and in their face qtr 2 and 3 was a factor on throwing the ball.

You think they would have passed as often and effective in 2 and 3 qtr as the first? against a 20-30 mph wind?

4th qtr started with 1 incomplete pass and 4 straight rushes for 30 yd and TD.

This was not directed specifically at you Kevin (i enjoy your post), but for those that always question a coaches play calling after a game.

All in all it was a great game by 2 great teams, and Central made a couple of extra plays to win it.

Great game by both teams especially the defense on both.  Glad Central got the win.  Means a lot to the school and community.  Also glad they waited until sunday to play it.  With that much on the line it would not have done the game justice to play after midnight.  Great game and great atmosphere.  Hats off to HC for a great season and best of luck in the future (or at least until you play Central again lol) Central, great job on staying together and weathering a 0-2 start always being the underdog and coming back swinging.  Fun group to watch.

I couldnt find a Knox Central thread for 2019.Looks like Greenback will be scrimmaging you all. What kind of team do you all expect to return?GB is rebuilding but has some pretty good kids.

I’m not much on starting threads, but unless somebody beats me to it I’ll start one after Dead Period. I also was not aware we were scrimmaging Greenback. We have two scrimmages set up I know for sure but GBack wasn’t one of them. We have looked good in 7 v 7 but I don’t put much stock into that stuff cause of no Lineman. We’ll know better where we stand after the scrimmages in pads start, but like I said in Spring, Central will be fine this year.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
