If they still had the Mays kid who was a lineman offered by Memphis I believe that would have shored them up more. In my opinion (other than depth) line play is the only area that they are not well above average in. Good but not great.

LC has more depth on the line this year than we ever had. They rotate defensive linemen every 2 plays. We play 8 different linemen so that is pretty good depth for a 1A school.

I guarantee you this Memphis middle college should win it all. Any college playing in single A should win the title! You think I'm joking but I'm not.

I thought one of y'all LC posters said Sonny Moore had the Falcons with a stronger SOS. Doesn't appear to be the case. I just want to know what you believe really sets the Falcons apart? What do you have that makes you think you can make the run to Cookeville? Tanner Snyder... Puckett... defensive play... offensive play...? Not saying you can't, just curious as to what you think.

Been watching LC football all my life and you can tell when you have that team. This team is that team. I have seen the top 4 in 1A play via hudl. The Falcons stand up just fine against any of them. There was also LC people at the Greenback/ Coalfield game last Friday. They where going to the UT game and caught y'all's game. Let's just say LC knows exactly were they stand against the best in the state. Any of the top 4 can win it all but LC matches up with the other 3 just fine. As far as Sonny Moore, I personally put no stock in his ratings. It's based on alot of different metrics that doesn't tell the whole story. It doesn't matter what I think. It will all play out in the end. Good luck to all teams and I hope all stay healthy.

I think you are right. I would say any of them could win it.

    • A lot of people don’t realize how valuable JMO was. QB, safety, punter and holder on pat’s. Kid did it all. I fully believe if he was healthy Dburg would have made it to the ship last year.
    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
