John Brice reporting that The GOAT is back in state

Sander's took a whopping pay cut from what he was used to making to go help get this program straightened out. If I remember right he got $225,000 a year plus incentives that might as well said land on the moon for an extra 15K. GQ deserved a position like this more than 10 years ago but had to go pay his dues or would have had a hard time being accepted in the college football world by others that did. Me personally, I've lost so much interest in college football over the transfer portal and name likeness I'll never be a fan of it like I once was. Being a head coach now days with this rotten generation of self righteous kids would be worse than being a manager of a Burger King coming in wondering who will show up today.

Crazy thing is a lot of ETSU fans are mad about the hire. Those people are crazy.  They should be ecstatic. George Quarles is a great coach.  A great man also.  My Nephew played for George Quarles.  He thought enough of George Quarles to name is son George. Did those ETSU fans really think Jeff Fisher was coming?

If any fans are mad about the hire I'd say it'll only take a few games for them to forget what they were mad about. I know there were a few stories on Yahoo Sports that said Fisher was serious about taking the job. I didn't know Quarles was even in the mix. But I can tell you I'm happier about Quarles being named head coach than I would of been with Fisher. And ETSU has a ton of players off a really good team coming back next year. Quarles can hit the ground running and never look back. Wouldn't it be something if he won a NC in his first year. Don't think I'm crazy. It could happen.

As a grad of ETSU and former professor of the school. I am ecstatic of the hire. Great coach and a great guy. He is definitely coming into a great situation, the cupboard is definitely not bare, there is some good young talent on the roster. It will be interesting who comes with him on his staff and what current staff members stay.

Anybody that is mad about this hire will probably soon forget because winning cures everything and GQ is a winner.
