rlh
Given they are keeping the same format for 2023 & 2024, South Pittsburg, Greenback, Coalfield, Cloudland, LV, Sale Creek, Copper Pan etc. in the east will remain 1a.

RocketHouse
What do Fayetteville or Waverly's numbers look like.? Anyone else likely moving up/ down into 2A with a chance to win it in 2023?

I saw them several times last year and have a large number of players dressed out compared to other 1A teams. Plus all the LC kids want to go there
Indian
"The TSSAA Board of Control met on Monday, August 15 at the Wilson County Board of Education Administrative & Training Complex in Lebanon. The Board discussed classification and voted to extend the current classification cycle for another two years (2023-24 and 2024-25 school years). Twentieth-day enrollments will be gathered from the member schools next month to begin the process of classifying and drawing new district alignments." So districts could change drastically or is it just the 20 percent enrollment increases/decreases moving in class?

They haven't been real clear on that. The bold quote above appears to say they are drawing new districts. The underlined quote appears to say they are keeping like it is for two more years.

They can now do either and point to their press release as "we were being transparent". Who's to say that they won't evaluate the numbers and see which scenario plays out with less criticism, then go with it. Wouldn't have been a problem to clarify. They are keeping the same class format for two more years. When numbers come out, they will address changes because there will be teams that moved around that was in the border line. Districts have changed in the past so they could change some. Never know.

In the past regions were set for 4 years unless a school had a large increase or decrease in enrollment (20%?). Is that what they are doing now? Or are they using these new numbers to go back to the drawing board and completely realign? Could some teams like Giles County be moved from East to West where they belong? Will Marshall County's region still have 8 teams? Edited August 31, 2022 by Salem
