Best High School Rivalry

I am still mad abotu the game 2 years ago when Clitnon was at the 1 with about 5 sec. left and if they scored they win but CATLETT chose to pass the ball and it ended up getting intercepted.

I was watching an O.S. game listening to OR/Clinton game on the radio and remember than one well. We don't have to worry about CATlett anymore, at least.

For the most in High School football it is the OR-DB game. Top teams, top players, and Great fans on both sides.

 

However, while the OR-Clinton game has gone by the wayside the past few years I really believe it is about to once again heat up.

A big rivalry is Cheatham County vs. Sycamore. No matter where the game is played or what type of conditions it is the stadium is ALWAYS packed. Another great rivalry that has grown in the past few years is Greenbriar vs. Sycamore. After the two teams have had close games in the past there have been down to the wire and bad blood has developed between the two teams, can't wait to see the game this year at Sycamore. thumb

cyjacket Wartburg has only been AA since 1986 and some of them years wartburg and coalfield  did not play each other  bottom line is  get over it wartburg is the better team take the bill winstead years out and it an't even close dogs by 10 this year and they even lost 20 players from last year

Yeah, the only way Wartburg can be superior to Coalfield in a major way is to remove some of their history by not counting a period where they could not beat Coalfield regularly. That's revisionist history and a totally incorrect way of analysis. Then we blame it on a coach. Of course Wartburg should beat Coalfield more than the other way around Gomer. The Wartburg has twice the enrollment meaning more student athletes to choose from. Why do you think we have these classifications in the first place. Quit worrying about beating those three little ole single A schools in the County only and concetrate on beating Rockwood, Alcoa, Harriman, Oliver Springs, and Spring City. Those mean something. I might have a little more respect for the dawgs when that happens. Until they can hold their own in their own classification they will not be getting much respect.
