No disrespect but the Mavs couldn’t sniff the greens strap last year, they definitely ain’t smelling it this year.4 points

Great post. @PurpleReign has been a Webster hater since his son sat on the sidelines a few years ago. Sometimes you just have to take this forum with a grain of salt. Over the years we’ve won games by 50 and we’ve still had fans on here blasting the coaching staff. The talent we lost last year was irreplaceable and like I stated after the game last week it is going to take a few games to get it together for all the guys who have stepped into new roles. Coaching is not the issue. The boys are young and just aren’t getting it done yet. The sophomore class is absolutely loaded and has a real opportunity to be the best class ever at the school if they stick together.3 points

I thought #22 for NE was one of, if not the, best player on the field. NE is loaded with talent, but you can tell they aren’t coached very well other than to let their individual talent do the work. If they would’ve gotten 22 the ball more in space it would’ve been a lot tougher game. Was very impressed with his foot work and speed2 points

I don’t have a dog in this hunt, but why is everyone hating on Oakland. They’re the best team in the state this year and in recent years they are hands down the best Rutherford County program. Will it change? Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t see it happening while Creasy is there for sure and I don’t see him going anywhere anytime soon.2 points

Riverside will be tested! It should be a good game! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t rooting for region brothers! Go Riverside! Praying for an injury free game!2 points

I looked it up on website...saying 20 to 21 Seniors. Would not think all of them contributed, but roster value.2 points

Not sure the total number but the number that matters is three. Jordan Cason, Jordan carter and quanterrius Hughes-Malone. All elite players at 2A level and not replaced with anyone near their level. At 2A just a few elite players makes a huge difference.2 points

The last time we lost to Boone was my senior year in 2012 . Last year they came close, I'm sure I won't see either of those outcomes next week. Betsy will be looking for someone to impose their frustrations on. Betsy-42 Boone-171 point

I'm going with Chuck Noll, head coach, Dick Lebeau, defensive coordinator! Thats it! Not OC. Offense is for sissies. We will play defense the whole game. Love and Jimmy Barna will take turns kicking! Trying a new tequilla, Tierra-Noble. sheesh..better slow down1 point

Just based on common opponents at this point AC is still way down the line. Betsy beats Science Hill by 19, then AC loses to Science Hill by 15. I’m not picking a winner here but it appears that is a lot of getting ready to do to play with Betsy. Much less Greeneville.1 point

1) Oakland 2) Maryville 3) Riverdale 4) Germantown 5) Ravenwood 6) Summit 7) Collierville 8) Whitehaven 9) Bradley Central 10) Bearden note: You might notice in the title it says 100% correct1 point

I agree....I believe they said he was only a JR. Their RB 22 is a SO. They will be decent next yr as well I suppose1 point

Hate to be Boone having to face EHS after getting pounced by Greeneville. EHS will have a lot to prove and take out a lot of anger for that performance1 point

I don’t have kids on the team, nor have I watched a practice or seen a Jr High game played in years, so other than being a fan and graduating there yrs ago I have no ties to the program. The truth of the matter is that we are just not as talented as we’ve been in 5 or 6 yrs! It was obvious from the first snap of the jamboree! It’s not coaching, though I don’t always agree with Coach Webster calls, he has assembled a great staff and the kids seem to love playing for him. His longevity alone speaks volumes ( 16 yrs I believe) I remember in the late 90’s we had 4 coaches in a 4 yr period. As for the difference of let’s say TC and H2O… We are excelling at almost every athletic event there is now. ( not just football) these days and the community comes out and supports them like no other community I know! This yr will more than likely end sooner than the last 4 or 5 have, but as long they keep fighting / getting better then we’ll be okay! Note: I have no doubt the future still looks bright in Watertown!!1 point

He goes multiple plays without touching the ball. South Gibson used their best player in Crenshaw. Milan didn’t.1 point

I have researched this Watertown program and it does seem the talent has raised the bar, with experienced coaching to accomodate. Seems like success followed the new school/campus being erected. GREAT for a small community for sure. The rezoning I see really encompasses most of the eastern and south east parts of the county, which of course is mostly rural, but hey, Trousdale county I believe is the smallest county in the state. My overall concern isnt can you reload every year, because well your fighting against what you are handed in the way of enrollment. I really appreciate the open opinions that are more football related, instead of "we are not doing as well this season, so lets find an excuse" and "lets point a finger" at a coach(s) or player(s). You play with what you have simple as that. Disclaimer: Have to player develop yearly, cant sit on your hands.1 point

Honestly if we’re talking dream staff then TL at DC and Greg Ryan as OC and either one as HC as long as they’d let the other do their job without interfering. Maybe throw Benefield from cloudland in there as a young buck for some energy. Just my opinion.1 point

I was speaking of those still with us and those feasible for Oneida to land on the staff.1 point

Vandy invited him and Keel to a game this season. Taye chose today's game. I'm not sure what game Keel is going to attend.1 point

Taye goes on a visit to Vanderbilt tonight. He will be there to see another MC running back Jacob Saylors playing for ETSU. Has to be exciting for him!1 point

New to the boards here. So, whats going on at WHS football? Coaching some say (but some of the coaching posts/references seem to come from disgruntle people-probably their kid is standing on the sidelines; or they had a player in the past that had limited PT) Either way...from what I hear Defense is still pretty darn good. Lets hear from some people with a football IQ, not a Saturday morning Quarter Back Club member. Lets hear what you have to say. Of course keep it clean...not looking to insult, but, I will have an investment in this program in about 3 years and would like to investigate. Never to early to investigate.1 point

Yes he had 3 td receptions, Brycen McDonald had 3 td passes. Blake Carroll had a good night rushing. Kael Feightenger had a big night defensively and rushing.1 point

They have athletes all over the field. Two good WRs and stud TE/LB. Big upfront and physical. I know Baxter is big and physical and well coached. City will take what the defense gives them and I feel that City will have the better athletes and QB play. Like I said it is going to be a dogfight and very physical and I don't think either team will win by more than 7. Wish I could go because I think it will be an excellent HS football game.1 point

Great atmosphere tonight at the ridge. Set up lounge area in the tailgating area and grilled some burgers. Fireworks show at the end of the game was on par with fun fest. Chocolate covered cheesecake at concessions is a treat. As for the game, I believe the team with the least mistakes came out the victor. I think the Wolves missing out on a game with Boone last week hurt them. The Wolves looked to be stronger then SH until halfway through the second quarter. Then, I could tell it was a coaches game from then on ( tactics). Both teams were in good shape. After the half, WR looked like a different team. Lots of mistakes and flags through the rest of the game. Can’t wait for the game with db.1 point

Those OR coaches wearing the Dragon gear tonight is sickening and them recruiting OR kids to Clinton is absurd. Let them go over there and lose to OR every year1 point

This was one of the best high school football games I’ve ever watched. Came down to the very end with both teams knowing this game was pivotal. Both teams showed up to play. Cam Houston is a stud and is going to be a force to be reckoned with the rest of the season. Next week, the river rats come to town. It should be another slugfest!1 point
