  3. I spent 20 years touring as a professional musician so my appreciation may be different from what others like in a halftime show. While it is not my primary instrument I was also the drummer for our stage band jazz ensemble when I was in high school (a billion years ago ..I know) . That said, I never really cared for the artsy-fartsy halftime shows with all the props and dancing and playing of songs by composer no one outside the world of band has heard of. Always themed with a main character (girl or guy), leaping and jumping and dancing around looking for their lost love, followed up by a horn solo you almost can't hear only to find them as they are dying or dead. BTW Why do you have to take your hat off to play a solo....It's not like it releases some kind of Kenny G Herb Alpert super powers ,,,,,oh yeah.. squirrel! The question.. my opinion I would say Blackman primarily because I seldom hear Oakland band play anything except for fight song after touchdowns,,, but that's a lot,,, Maybe they don't have time to play anything except for that

  4. I wanted to go ahead and get an updated set of rankings out before the state duals this weekend. This should take into account matches from the region duals (other than FR vs CBHS which hasn't happened yet). I also went ahead and added in some notes and commentary on results from the previous week's results where they may have factored into rankings. I am sure there will be plenty of movement following matches this weekend. 106 Tanner Tran (9, FR) Axel Ritchie (9, McC) William (Oliver) Phillips (9, Bay) Luke Kibblebeck (8, Lake) Ignatius Smout (11, CBHS) Luke Brock (9, MBA) Notes: JD Patton (10, CCS) appears to have shifted down into this weight but only took a forfeit at the weight. Leaving him at 113 until he gets some matches in. Luke Brock (9,MBA) beat Bentley Edwards (BB) and slides into the ranking on that win. Axel Ritchie (McC) pinned Kibblebeck (Lake). 113 Jacob Bond (10, Bay) Nolen Hardman (9, BB) Cash Waymire (9, BA) JD Patton (10, CCS) Luke Johns (9, MBA) Brody Connell (9, McC) Notes: JD Patton (10, CCS) may be dropping from this weight. Hardman (BB) pinned Johns (MBA) 120 Joseph Calvin (11, FR) Hudson Frazier (10, MBA) Joseph (Tate) Williams (11, BB) Jed Pierce (9, McC) Cole Gumlick (10, Lake) Hudson Salvaggio (11, CBHS) Notes: Hudson Frazier (10, MBA) moves down into the weight and picks up wins over Williams (BB) and Gumlick (Lake), 7-1 and 5-3 respectively. Williams (BB) pinned Gumlick (Lake). Gumlick (Lake) also dropped a 5-3 match to Jed Pierce (McC) who enters the rankings. 126 Brody Gobbell (10, FR) Spencer Reep (11, Lake) Luke Braman (12, ND) Chase Hart (10, Bay) Matt Bryant (10, Good) Harbor Bent (9, BB) Notes: Luke Braman (12, ND) moves down from 132, dropping a 13-6 match to Reep (Lake) and pinning Bellet (MBA). Hart (Bay) dropped a 5-2 match to Pierce (McC) in the dual at 126. Bryant (Good) won a few matches up at 132 and 138. Harbor Bent (9, BB) enters the rankings on strength of wins over Bellet (MBA) by fall and Jolly (CCS) 7-3. 132 Cason Roark (10, FR) Cameron Helton (10, Lake) Alex Ropski (12, CBHS) William (George) Emendorfer (9, Bay) Andrew Connow (10, PJP) Braden Ryan (9, McC) Notes: Cason Roark (FR) hits the mats for the first time this season and takes the #1 spot. Emendorfer (Bay) pinned Usher (McC, 126) during their dual. 138 Nathaniel Askew (10, Bay) Caleb Gumlick (12, Lake) Carter Rowlett (11, BB) Mason Butler (10, CBHS) Bo Donnelly (10, BA) Eric (Davis) Crawford (11, MBA) Notes: Gumlick (Lake) beat Rowlett (BB) 9-1 in dual to go with pins over Crawford (MBA) and Bridgman (CCS). Rowlett (BB) pinned Crawford (MBA) & beat Bridgman (CCS) 17-7. Butler (CBHS) defeated Donnelly (BA) 2-0. Askew (Bay) wrestled 145 in dual versus McCallie and picked up a pin over Voiles. 145 Jay Eversole (10, Lake) Chancery Deane (10, FR) Mac Russ (12, MBA) Connor Payne (11, BB) Tyson Wolcott (11, FC) Jack Ward (12, BA) Notes: Word has it that Paradice has left Baylor so dropping him from the rankings. Eversole (Lake) defeated Russ (MBA) 6-4 in dual. Deane (FR) wrestled up to 152 and beat Klindt (MBA) by fall. Ward (BA) slides into final ranking spot following Paradice's departure. 152 Ian McGehee (12, MUS) Ryan (Micah) Tisdale (12, Bay) Chase Eakes (12,FC) Sawyer Rutherford (10, FR) Ryan Comfort (12, GCA) Ethan Klindt (12, MBA) Notes: Rutherford wrestled up to 160 in dual and pinned Corby (MBA) 160 Hunter Sturgill (10, Bay) Wills Bronson (12, CBHS) Taylor Wimsatt (11, BA) Austin (AJ) Johnson (11, BB) Connor Corby (12, MBA) Micah Lemaota (12, FR) Notes: Bronson (CBHS) pinned Wimsatt (BA) in dual. Johnson defeated Corby (MBA) 11-5 and Dooley (Lake) by fall. Corby (MBA) defeated Dooley (Lake) by fall. Common opponent info came to light that moved Johnson (BB) and Dooley (Lakeway) over Frankfather (FRA) which pushed Frankfather out of rankings. Lemaota (FR) has win over Dooley (Lake). 170 Matt Oberlander (12, FR) Drake Bowers (11, CBHS) Odin Phillips (12, Bay) Kaiden Bates (11, BB) Logan Mavroff (11, GCA) Brody Casto (10, Lake) Notes: Oberlander (FR) beat Tompkins (MBA) 7-2 in dual. Bates (BB) beat Casto (Lake) 7-6 and Tompkins (MBA) 4-0. Tompkins (MBA) defeated Casto (Lake) 5-3 but lost to Kyle (CCS) 3-1 SV and Vintrov (ND) 3-2 UTB. Casto (Lake) beat Kyle (CCS) 9-6 creating a 3-way between Tompkins, Kyle, and Casto in head-to-head. Casto also beat Vintrov (ND) 8-1. Mavroff (GCA) is 2-0 versus Kyle (CCS) on season keeping him ahead of the other group. Kyle (CCS) took a lost to Vintrov (ND) 2-1 in dual but has two wins over him in season. Casto gets 6th spot out of 3-way tie based on being only one in group without lose to Vintrov (ND). 182 Omaury Alvarez (11, Bay) Elias Franks (10, MBA) Jonah Bumgarner (10, CCS) Ja'Von McMahan (11, McC) Eli Etherton (12, CAK) Erasmo Cortez (11, CBHS) Notes: Alvarez (Bay) defeated McMahan (McC) 14-2 in dual. 6. He don’t have to worry about Elizabethton since the are AAAa. He just was bragging on them some since he played them. No doubt we all three have to worry about each other around here. South Side is a matchup nightmare for all.

  10. What I know he will do is bring excitement to the program, new look , new swagger, Give defenses fits, Draw talent from other area schools, develop talent that is thee like crazy, get the entire school engaged . Drive community support and show the same to the community. ....I promise you this much, give him a couple years to get it going and you will be a powerhouse in that region. And you will dang sure score some points....

  12. Hopefully he adjusts his attitude, his practice habits, and the effort he puts out when the play doesn't center around him, or those at Bearden will be scratching their heads as well about all these offers.

  16. I also grew up around music. Dad played piano for Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings early years. He passed away 22 years ago and boy do I miss him. He is the reason I played music. love to hear anyone who can truly play piano... not to be confused with Keyboards

  23. I think everyone needs to just accept that CC’s schedule is Weak. And that ridiculous trip to NH was a Field Trip for the girls. Nothing more Nothing less. We can discuss the decisions about NOT Playing in a real tournament with real competition. Obviously they didn’t do anything that long weekend to improve. But they are really talented. Yes they should have gone to play in Florida or even a better tournament in ET. Or in SC. The season is winding down now. So we’ll see how prepared they are to play teams with equal talent in the playoffs. I HOPE that they go to the State. But the AD and Coach make me wonder why they have waisted opportunities to play better teams and improve. Well find out soon enough if they’re ready to compete. This team definitely has the talent. But I’m wondering IF they would’ve been a little more prepared if their schedule and tournaments were a little more competitive. Jus sayin

  25. Will Shads wife get to go and blow the airhorn to let the team know it's time for a water break. I'm sure he went for one of those 100K contracts they give out over there at Catholic. Only question is where will the freshman QB from Eagleton go to next year. The dad and Shad are big friends and where ever the head goes the tail follows.

  31. You East Robertson gentlemen do realize you can argue about who knows who and why they can't or can win a state championship over on the 2A Region 3 thread don't you? We have gotten 3 pages of absolute non-sense from you guys from the same fan base arguing about the East Robertson Indians. I have a better idea just start an East Robertson Thread and go at it for the next 7 months!
